Thank you for sharing the titles of the books you get. I Iove reading about others gardens and their successes and trials. As for your new shelves..... i like them so much. I suggest you put your steamer on the top shelf and just take it down when you use it, put the new slow cooker on the bottom shelf and your egg chicken on the second shelf to add a bit of country against the metal. Also, you could hang your utensils from the side somehow and free up more space on the counter. Just the opinion of someone who loves to organize. Oh, and you can put the wheels on your shoes... but then you'll need to buy a helmet. 😂😂😂

Hi Sean! I steam my veggies in my microwave. I place the veggies in a shallow bowl with a little water at the bottom. I then place e paper towel over the bowl and steam the veggies depending upon what they are 1::00-3:00 minutes. It’s an alternative to using a steamer and works great!

Tenby is gorgeous - my late husband and I loved popping over there for the day when I taught at UWTSD at Carmarthen. While there pop into the Imperial Hotel and take tea on their terrace (or just go and have a look at the view from there for free!) also the Vista Cafe in Crackwell St has a stunning view of the town and well worth a visit.

Wow, if they were to only collect "garbage" once every three weeks here in the states, it would be a disaster. We have garbage pick up once a week, and you can put out four 50 gallon garbage / trash bags, and then every other week, they collect co-mingled recycling, plastic, glass, paper and cardboard. Yard waste is only collected April to November. It's interesting finding out such everyday things. Thanks for sharing. Catherine

I like your layout. Cooking things on one side (cooker, microwave toaster, etc) and veg prep and washing up on the other. Can the space on top of the wall cupboards be used for storage of winter things, in summer, and visa versa? (Slow cooker, propagators). Stretching is good, as is bending, your kitchen becomes a keep fit room😉! Talking of slow arriving slow cookers, looks like you'll put it away for summer as soon as it arrives! Time for salads, not stews! 😂

Very useful little shelf unit. I think the veggie steamer could live on top while you're not using it, or the toaster could live up there and you could put it onto the counter when it's not actually making toast if you think the heat would bother the wall surface. Neither one of those things is in use 24/7, so that would work I think.

@SeaShoreAnnie10 ай бұрын
He’s an absolute joy isn’t he Sharon. Up in North Wales there is a right hoo ha going on with the refuse collections at the moment. Currently we have black, blue & green wheelie bins, collected fortnightly on alternate weeks, plus purple bins for nappies, incontinence etc Black for household waste that can’t be recycled, blue for recycling, green for garden waste. It works perfectly & everyone appears happy with it but oh no, they don’t like happy people so they are about to change it for stackable little boxes, even our MP for the Vale Of Clwyd is campaigning against it but apparently it’s something Westminster insists is going to be rolled out nationwide so it will be coming to everyone. For someone like me who has MS & cannot bend down, how am I supposed to get access to the bottom box on the floor, it’s simple, I can’t but apparently I have to so they want me to pretend that I am not trapped in a body that doesn’t work well, how exciting, I think I will take up trampolining & marathon running🙄🙄🙄My apologies for the little rant, I’m just so frustrated that come May this year the elderly, infirm, disabled in Denbighshire are going to be discriminated against once again & left in utter chaos, even worse is they are going through our waste & fining people for putting the wrong things in the wrong bins. God help us, what has the world come to. I miss the old days of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s when life was so much simpler & people were happier. Best wishes Annie🏴
@carolineowen784610 ай бұрын
@@SeaShoreAnnieAnnie, you are not alone! South Essex has rolled out the same, they are not even stackable boxes, more like sacks with a weight in the bottom, so (apparently) they don't blow away ... however the Urban foxes love them as do rats, and they do get blown down the street (utter chaos). It is almost 'bin collection parade' hear the cofuffle of the collections and nip out with the bag / sack, impossible if you are out at work ! (I joke - my Mum can not -nip out - to do it, my Sister has to & to be fair she competes with a statue on speed of motion - I'm 3.5 hours away...) to get the bag / sack thing to the waste collectors. They would be better off ringing a hand bell, so people can bring out their refuse, esp in bad weather. If you have an old fashioned bin cupboard (60's style). I put shelves in there for the sacks. The 2 most used being between waist and shoulder height. The least used being the highest. Glass & tins on the bottom (as heavy & would cause an issue if fell) & I take then to the HWRC when I visit. If you have a wooden double wheelie bin store, either get some big plastic boxes & use as a shelf, or get someone to put some shelves across for you. Upcycle some pallets? May ask your MP about this, or local councillor? as I'm sure this will be affecting ALOT of people. You never know they might get a community project going, eg with say something like men's shed? At least your MP etc are on side. I used a (for free) pallet, & was able to put wooden strips on the walls, but it is a 60's brick bin cupboard - might have even been a coal cupboard originally.

@@carolineowen7846 Hi Caroline, it sounds like you have a good system going there. I laughed out loud at the bit about the bell ringer, if you don’t laugh you’d cry. I’m lucky that I do have a grown up child still living at home but she often goes away travelling so it will be fun & games when she is away. The only parts I do like is that every week there will be a collection of electrical goods, textiles & batteries. I think that’s great. I guess we will have to just see how it goes. I’ve just been told our new boxes are being delivered in March but we are not to use them until May so at least I will know in advance if I am physically able to manage the box system. Good luck to everyone who’s struggling with these mad impractical ideas🙄At least the wildlife won’t starve🥴

I think if you are going to make a greenhouse thing at the back of the house, corrugated plexi would shed rain and be more durable. It also looks well sheltered. Green house plastic is getting torn up here with the crazy weather. Growing garlic has has me crazy. With the up and down temps and more rain than normal, the little garlic bulbs end up rotting. I am going to rig up a covered raised bed/cold frame. Maybe that will solve the problem. That little shelving unit fits nicely in the counter.
