A sunset off the stern as the moon rises over the bow... Kids sleeping soundly, totally fine with what will be known as an 'unbelievable childhood' days from land and still - able to upload a video!! You guys, my Favourite Canadian Ambassadors - really are, livin' the dream! God Bless you and yours. Fair winds and following seas. And - what about a tiny pressure washer for deck cleaning - you've got the water now... Love from BC.

Ben, Ashley and Munchkins hi from Calgary. Congrats on another successful equator crossing and having King Neptune on board to gently haze and anoint those two cute new Shellbacks. Great parents you are. From that day forward in their lives whenever wherever they cross the equator as adults they will think of Mom and Dad and that special day. Parenting 101 at its finest you should be proud of yourselves. Hey I want to try that climbing net too much fun. The birds and their shit, I'm an Environmental Project Mgr. One of the most challenging issues to deal with humanly. However your doing all you can their crap rates up there with Roaches. Safe sailing see you next week, thanks.

You mentioned the birds smell, I used to do bird watching trips from Sydney harbour to the shelf 50 nautical miles out to sea, I know what you’re thinking, bird watching at sea ?? Yes there are a crazy amount of different birds that live at sea, and they only ever go on land to nest. The smell is the oil they excrete to waterproof their feathers and bodies, the albatross and mutton bird are the worse for this.

Wow, Humboldt Current, I lived in Humboldt County California for most of my life ! Mr Alexander Von Humboldt must have spent some time in my bay ? Awesome, you've made it, my favorite place to watch sailors, the south pacific. I read James Mecheners book Hawaii in High School, and at 73, still enthralled with the romance of the Southern Pacific !

Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure with us. I am sorry you couldn't stop at the islands today. I wouldn't have either because of all the expenses and red tape. That's CRAZY! Anyway, I am glad you did the first time to experience it but I have a feeling you may stop there again at some point in your future sailing adventures. You both are such great parents to Willa and Bodie. I remember watching your videos when you were on your way to Canada to have Willa and Ben you were acting a bit strange. I mean that in a fun way, I believe Ashley was ready to have a baby, it was an easier adjustment for her than for you. However, watching today's video, I said out loud, Ben you have become such a GREAT dad! You are made for that role. You have all adjusted to sailing as a family SO well and the kids seem to love it. They have a lot of fun on the boat and meeting people from every country so easily at such a young age. Great job in every way to both of you. Give the kids a hug from this grandma in West Michigan on Lake Michigan.

In "Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea", author Gary Kinder chronicles how Tommy Thompson while working for Mel Fisher on board a dredge in Florida, had a problem with sea bird quango accumulating and smelling to high heaven. Tommy hit on the idea of electrofying the top cable in the rigging that the birds landed on. He would throw a switch and off all the birds would fly! All was working fine till one old bird learned that if he lifted a foot, he wouldn't get zapped. Soon the rest of the flock followed suit and they were in bird poo again. So Tommy reversed the polarity of the rigging wires, and squawk off went the flock! Then the wise old bird learned to lift the other foot and that soon was picked up by the whole flock. Well so much for keeping the fowl off the wires and offal off the decks! It did offer a synchronized choras line of sea bird conga line that put to music was quite comical. /Robin

Congratulations to all of you! You might want to stay as long as you can in the SI. Keep an eye on what happens here in the US. Consider what happens if ... the USA falls to a dictatorship or Invasion. What will your family do? Where you are heading may be one of the few places one can ... hide. Consider what you would do if you needed to be totally off grid for 3 years? Keep an eye on November 29th of this year. Fair Winds Nahoa! (Dorian and Cathy, SV Arcanum)
