I have the Peak Design flap-style backpack. What I LOVE about it is the origami style inserts which enables you to organise the space within the pack. You can protect soft/fragile items from larger heavier ones and you have great access options with the two side panel openings. It's really spacious inside and you can operate a "shelf" system, so if you have for example a tupperware with food in it you can keep it correctly oriented as opposed to laying it on its side. I like the discreet pocket at the top of the main compartment, the attachment points along with the supplied cordage so you can fasten a jacket/sleeping bag etc to the outside, and the secure zipper pulls (you can fasten them to the attachment points to deter pickpockets). What I think they should do better, especially for the steep price, is make the shoulder straps more comfortable. Any amount of weight in the pack makes it feel like daggers on your shoulders. It really lets the bag down and it's why it's not my number 1 bag. Also, the laptop/taco pouch compartment could do with having the zipper come down a bit further as it is quite tight to get in there. I always find myself catching the cuticles of my nails on the zippers and it's not great if you're often in and out of that compartment. A weird criticism, I know, but anyone who's hand a hangnail or skin peeling from the base of your fingernail will know what I'm talking about. All in all if it weren't for the internal organisation, I probably wouldn't use the bag and would sell it. There are so many awesome other options out there.

Ive been running the peak design everyday bag with the latch in the larger size for several months and am in love. I used to use a nomadic (still a great bag) but when I switched the the peak design, everything changed for my “EDC”. LOVE the latch/roll-top design!

Have to chime in again on this for anyone who may randomly see it... Ever since this video I have gotten "the backpack bug" again and been on the hunt for something to change up my EDC... I have tried several Belroy options (the are honestly the only other company where I REALLY like the look of their bags.... my wife also loves her Tokyo tote backpack from them...) But I always come back to the PD Everyday Backpack with the latch. But I have really been wanting to give a zipper style bag another go so I finally caved and ordered the Zip version in 20L. I have the 30 for the latch version... It probably is not worth having both, but sometimes you just need another backpack...

For me, I have been in love with the Mission Workshop Rhake. I've used it for the past year and a half, and fell in love with Mission Workshop. Everything that Chrome needed to improve upon was achieved by Mission Workshop. It's fitting, seeing that Mission Workshop was founded by a co-founder of Chrome, who then branched off and made his own company.

I swapped to the 6L Wandrd roam pack and haven't looked back. Having less space to pack stuff into has made me either look for lighter weight items and kept my EDC hoarding under control for my back.

Hey Chase, I need a recommendation for very specific needs. I have a full size MX Keys, an Evergoods 2L civic access pouch, Sony XM4s. I travel to and from the office, I want something that fits these but I'm not a fan of backpacks, I prefer the briefcase style bags. I want something minimal but that can fit everything no problem and without having to toss the keyboard in diagonally. I really loved the Aer and Alpaka briefcases but they're just too short to fit the MX Keys full size which I need the numpad for work.

I had the flip Peak Design, loved the look but was not a fan of accessing my stuff in it. I think the zip one looks like a completely different bag TBH, I don’t think it looks as nice but it looks a better bag to me, not tried it though. Right now I have the Venture in blue, feels like a bag that needs a tech pouch but I love it. Wish it was easy to get the Tom Bihn bags in the UK as I’d love to try one of those.

Chase! I switched to the 16" MBP this year because my eyes wanted a larger screen as I'm getting older... but my problem is that the laptop just doesn't fit very well in most bags anymore. My Tom Bihn Synik 30 is a much worse experience with a 16" laptop even. Any recommendations for a good backpack for that same seamless experience I used to have with a 13" or 14" laptop but with a 16" one instead?
