I totally agree with everything you said. I’m sick of it all! It’s just STUFF!😊

Glad I'm not the only one who's chosen an animal-free household. Seems like just about everyone I know--neighbours, friends, coworkers--owns a dog (sometimes more than one). They don't understand why I wouldn't want one myself. From their point of view, I'm missing out. To each their own. I grew up in a home with cats but I don't even want to own a cat as an adult. It doesn't mean I don't like them, though.

We also quit Christmas gifts when our kids were little. Mom and dad would buy a family gift (annual passes to a theme park for example) and the kids could give each other presents that were either homemade or bought with their allowance. Because yes, they have grandparents who live close by who love buying gifts all year,, as well as Christmas, we bought stuff throughout the year, and they just had way too many toys. Everyone agreed and have had fun through the years with gift giving. They learned it was more fun to give gifts than to receive them. They are young adults now and still enjoy giving creative gifts to their siblings.

I collect playing cards too!!! I started a few years ago, that to remember where I visit, just get cards that could be used one day instead of keychains or magnets or postcards that I really won’t use or look at. I’m glad someone else does too!!!!

I'm here because of A to Zen Life. This is a very good list, and you give excellent reasons. (However, I'm a cat person, so I disagreed with your #20 Pets. But everyone has to do their own thing, so I get it.) Anyway, you made me rethink a lot of unnecessary items in my life!

Great ideas. Most of which I’m already following as I’m naturally organized, a few I disagree but I’m at a different stage in life. Your channel seems more realistic than some I have watched.

I buy a themed Christmas ornament from places I travel. Its fun to reminisce when I put up my tree each year - and they don't take up a lot of space.

Great tips. I don’t agree tho with not buying school pictures. Most children in the UK wear a school uniform & it’s great to have official pix of them in their uniform on their own & with their class. I’ve saved all my niece & nephew’s school pix & am gonna put them in a memory book. If I was married I’d always buy him a Christmas present, or pressies. To me, he would be very special. I remember at one time asking the scrapbooking company Keeping Memories Alive for every pair of crinkly scissors that they had. As I’m in the UK this was quite expensive. Since then I’ve used archival photo sleeves & now do it digitally.

Oh wow! Yes! Yes! Yes! I agree with you 100%! This is one of the most informative videos I’ve ever seen! Laura I’ve been watching you through emails for years and wow, you have come a long way. Keep up the good work girl. Thank you.

I like many of your ideas, however, I don't buy many of the items you mention. As for animals, I am an animal lover and could never imagine my home without them. Each has a right to their opinion. Yes, I used to do the couponing thing too!!! I found that many things expired before I had a change to use them!!!! Crafts, going through the aisles, I would look and say, oooohhh, I think I would like to try that and then never use it!!! LOL

Absolutely agree with almost all of these. Drinks at restaurants are so pricey- always water for me. No pets in my house either. I do enjoy my favorite magazine Real Simple and I don’t think it is available digitally anywhere. But I read it & then give it to a friend - no clutter.

Great tips. I don’t scrapbook (doing all the framing and cute little wording, etc.) because you get so involved looking at the finished product you forget to look ar the pictures. Many of these don’t work for me because of space and a few don’t work because I do use the items but many of them do and I appreciate the time and effort you took to share them. I love doing my nails as well. It seems like I get a few weeks a season when my nails are lond and nicely shaped. Next thing I know they start breaking off and the mani I spent so much time on is done for. I don’t like getting my nails done by someone else. Don’t know why but it just doesn’t turn me on!! And forget a pedicure!! Again, thanks for sharing!

Like others, I’m laughing and also curious about your purse! You recently mentioned the Patagonia hip pack your sister-in-law shared. Is THAT your purse? And I’m reconsidering. The efficiency and economy that bag necessitate is…inspiring!

Our libraries have book sales. You can take bags of every book imaginable, for donations . And they want you to take as many as possible. They need the room. It's includes audio, cd, dvd's. Clears out there back ,that could be a fire hazard. We have 3 libraries in our area.

My sweet pets eat all my money and trash my home, so I get why people want to go without, but the joy they bring me is worth it. I hate experiences outside and screw my new carpet, I can always buy a new one.

Never had cable tv either. Just the streaming services- and only a few of them within my budget. Plus my (now deceased husband had 100s of DVDs and VHSs... we don't need cable tv!

I have to jump in here, around aspirational foods, I pray that even one person reads, contemplates and tries for just 2wks ketovore or carnivore living. Ditch processed foods and sugar (I had zero cravings) eat as much meat, fish, eggs as you possibly can fit (stuff yourself, that's the key to no sugar cravings, there's no room!) Cook in animal fats, eat fatty meat, proper animal fats are our body and minds preferred fuel. Full fat real butter, full fat cheeses and yogurts. When the naturally occuring fat is removed, there's so many unpronounceable ingredients put in to make it taste the same. Way less food waste and expense. I wish you all the best health, simply and naturally 💜💚🥩🥚

I used to be guilty of buying items just because of the coupons. I don’t do that at all anymore. Digital coupons are handy , but I use them less often than I used newspaper coupons back in the day.

I want to quit the gifts for the family. I do feel bad they still buy us stuff but for me it is about being with the family. Why should I go in debt for my family member to go out and enjoy one dinner together

Animal free or kid free same same if you measure time and money and energy. I choose both bc they are priceless. Also bc they choose you, be it the sperm or the cat distributor system. How it goes and wouldn't trade it for all the extra time or money.

A house is not a home without a furbaby in it ... until they die. The agony of losing them is too much to bear, so now i'll gladly play with my neighbors pets but i'll never have another one myself. My heart just cant take it, plus at age 72 a pet would get attached to me and it isnt fair to them that we wouldnt have much time together, leaving them to grieve over me & have to adjust to God-only-knows whatever situation they would be put in. It will be lonely for me for the rest of my life now after losing my two cats but it is what it is.
