If you look at the disassembly it's easy to make lots of codes. You can basically choose what you want to do. These are the codes I've discovered using this method. One of the great things about the game genie, as opposed to other cheat devices / types, is that the way it scrambles up the changes its making, so that you can make words and abbreviations causing (almost) random effects! When I was younger I was REALLY BADLY wanted to know how it was doing what it was doing. Fortunately nowadays, the work has been done the work to document exactly how it works, and as a result you can even create some specific effects you want, then generate game genie code(s) to do that on real hardware! There are of course some limitations, and of course the original NES game genie can only do 3 codes at most on hardware. Could you do a video talking about why certain codes do the things they do?

Here's a code that I haven't seen anywhere else, so I might have created: PISSSS. It makes Mario slide across the floor with no jump control. He slides automatically and you control his speed. You might need to make yourself invincible and put on walk through walls to get this to work. Also the HUD is very glitchy. (Yes I know it's named piss, that's the point)

try GAYKEA everything comes back alive when you kill them such as goombas (sometimes) koopa's and things with shells too! platforms move on 1-2 oh the music is weird too

The only codes that are cool are PIGPOG, YEAAAA (Nothing wrong with YEAAAA), POOPIE and weird enough, TITSEX. But that TITSEX code made me chuckle. XD good video, Kilgruz.

All codes found and tested by me on an emulator, it might work differently for you since I'm not using the duckhunt mario version. AAGPEG - Different enemies plus weird warps YEEAAAAA - Variation of YEAAAA (basically the same) PATAAA - Invisible tiles. (Good luck beating this with PIGNAX and VIVOAV) TEATEA - Control your enemies! Kinda... (The best code I've found so far) Minor codes APZTUV - Very minor graphical glitch in big Mario's walking animation (You can skip this one since it's so minor) PPAPAP - Full version overworld plays during pipe cut scene (I wanted the meme to work and found something it did so yay) IAPNES - Very minor music glitch during the underworld theme (I wanted to fit in senpai somehow and ended up writing it backwards)

I challenge you to complete KTIPIG! (Start 1-1 with the code activated) I've finished 3 layers, then I'm now stuck. Layer 1: Just walk right. Layer 2: Get up to the bricks. Layer 3: Stand on the right side of the pipe and run and jump onto the little green thing, and jump through. You can clip through the pipe and snipe the goomba.

Putting in the code GOODIA does some things. The title screen looks wack, screen transitions look pretty cool, and going down warp pipes as big mario crashes the game.

The catch with SUKDIK...If you die when the internal life counter is negative, it's game over. Reference to another known glitch in the game.

i.e. It you have 128-255 lives, you'll have to collect another 128 or so just to be safe again. Hopefully you don't SUKDIK at counting the number of lives you collect in each level.

EUNOPS A whole new awesome set of levels. though you may need a level select code as the 2-4 castle is unbeatable. also, 1-2 is a brain puzzle, so you just have to use your head. also some of the jumps are super hard (i'm looking at you 1-3) so you may want to use an emulator with save states or rewind. it's really fun.

Emulator used for testing: FCEUX 2.2.3 ROM: Super Mario Bros. (Japan, USA) DRUGSS = Nothing. OHSHIT = Freezes in the title screen. KILLGRU = Error: Invalid code. PIXELC = Freezes the game. MARIOO = When dying from an enemy, the game freezes. SUPERM = Freezes the game.

"Mario 67" As a kid we had a code we wrote down that transformed mario into a flying (jump in air) invincible robot that could carry shells. When you skidded you could see a tiny mario and luigi inside. If you touched water the game crashed. There was some graphic that showed the number 67 on the map screen or something i think with it so we called it "mario 67". SO WISH i still had that code, because i haven't been able to find its usage anywhere since!

I found a code. It's ZSNENT. It didn't give you invisibility but it does corrupt your game when you collect a coin or hit a block. I did try doing this code on a rom hack of Super Mario Bros called Weird Mario Bros. Also It's hard to tell how much time you have left and every time you beat the level, the game just freeze but the timer doesn't so try out this code, you might know something

Try LigLog Do not collect power ups or enemys! Otherwise Mario will start to forever walk right and you have to restart and coins do weird things when you collect them. Some make you fall through the floor while others skip the warp (if you are in one) Not tested on the super mario bros + duck hunt rom
