I'm grateful for this comparison, but you made a mistake with Walmart's entry. The “Tough Box” four-pack is sold and shipped by LYNX PAK, a seller using the Walmart website's third-party listing system. Walmart's actual offering is called “Hyper Tough” (and its lid is red). It has more than 7,600 ratings, averaging 4.7 stars. The 27-gallon version currently costs $9.97 for a single unit. It's available for shipping and stocked at seven of the eight Walmart locations in my area. Please consider buying and testing it. Thanks!

To be fair, Walmart wasn't selling those totes, "Working Tires" sold those thru Walmart as a marketplace. Just like you can buy Sold and fulfilled by Amazon, or by third parties. Not fair to knock Walmart on third party vendor product quality, they should only be ranked for the purchasing experience via the website and dealing with any returns afterwards since you can return to store. You ranked Costco the same as Sams for value and Costco was is about 10% cheaper. I didn't know about the price match at HD, I'll have to do that next time, because I have used some HD totes for work and they have held up well, the Costco I have just been using for long term storage of items, and they are static, not getting loaded and moved around like the HD totes, but to be fair, the HD totes are smaller, they aren't the 27's, but I have some 27's and even some larger HD ones and they have been great for probably close to 10 years. Good review, thanks for that price match and beat nugget!

Home Depot, in my eyes, won for sure due to all the amazing things mentioned about their totes in the video. Not to mention how agreeable they always are about negotiations with me. Very creative, super informative video. I'm in the process of reorganizing my garage now. When I was doing my own research even before walking into any stores, I was absolutely appalled the Amazon and Walmart online prices, so when I came across the Costco ones, it seemed like a no-brainer. Red ones aint bad but if you build one of those racks to put them in keep in mind red ones are slightly narrower, i seen that first hand as my yellow ones fit great but ted ones almost fall out of the channels on the rack

Love this… was hoping for some detailed info regarding interior storage dimensions tho; the Home Depot HDX ones are on sale right now but from the website dimensions it looks like they taper in pretty steeply, losing ~5” on the sides? Wondering if other brands keep closer to their rectangular dimensions or if the HD ones aren’t actually that severely tapered inward… 🧐

@tashaviaf The HDX totes do taper inward, which helps them interlock better. It’s a trade-off because they can feel like they have less usable space. As you fill them, just keep in mind that you can’t pack them all the way to the top. Still technically 27 gallons, though.

An aspect you didn't review. What if you want or need to use different size totes. The Amazon brand has 3 sizes where the width and length are the same. The height is the only thing that changes. Others either don't offer other sizes, or the vary the width or length so I can't use the same storage rack.

Same product double the price. Someone buys them from lowes and then puts them on the amazon market. They need to make a profit, so they double the price they paid. That is how some people make money. they find a product that Amazon doesn't sell but is popular offline. So, they buy it from the retail and put a markup on the price to sell on Amazon.

Walmart Totes are often on sale for $9.98. And I think they a stronger and thicker than Home Depot and Lowes. I order them online. (Free Shipping) after buying a few in store. Very HARD to find in the store.

Sam's Club might have changed, I just bought one and the ones at the store are all red-lid and with a different pattern on the lid. I was hoping to get some information in this video about interchangeability between the store's boxes. Like, which ones can stack on each other, maybe interchangeable lids? I mostly have bought Costco Greenmade totes since I already had Office Depot Greenmade totes, and I knew the HDX totes weren't the same and wouldn't stack nicely with each other. I bought one of the Sam's ones yesterday to see how they stacked with the Costco ones but it looks like they are taller, like the HDX ones. I'll have to get one of my HDX out of storage to see if they stack well.
