27 Weeks Pregnant|Growth Scan Update, Baby Measuring Small

I am 25wks and was recently told ive only gained 3lbs so far so im having some problems gaining weight. it really confuses me cuz my belly is growing just fine. I am one of those women with two vessels to the placenta. my dr told me not to worry though. PRAYING FOR THAT GROWTH SPURT!!!! Im sure your daughter will be just fine♡

Thank you!! Isn't it crazy how different every woman and pregnancy is?? I'm so glad your doctor was able to be real and comforting in regards to that, some doctors aren't the best at making their patients feel as ease. Gosh, I sure do hope so! I'm praying we get some positive and comforting news at our next growth scan!

I know this is an old video, but just so you know, you can have sciatic nerve impingement on either the left or right side. You can also have Piriformis syndrome on either side.

Looked up videos on this subject today, because at 1 day shy of being 32 weeks, I have been informed that my baby has asymmetrical growth restriction. She was always small, but I'm a small person myself so they were not worried. However, at my ultrasound yesterday, they found that her abdomen is not growing properly but the rest of her is fine. I've been put on a twice-a-week schedule for dr visits. I am worried, afraid, & blaming myself for working too hard (I cook at a diner, on my feet all day) trying to make sure that I can help provide for all of her needs. My boyfriend is very upset with me, as he wanted me to stop working weeks ago & the Dr. says that my lack of rest & improper nutrition are most likely the cause. I only wanted to provide for her & now I feel like I've damaged her in some way. I can't say I'm glad that anyone else has ever had to go through anything similar because it's a terrible feeling when you think something is wrong with your child & I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I am thankful to know I'm not entirely alone. Prayers going up for anyone else going through this or anything like it.

Awww I'm so sorry you're going through this! Just know that it is not your fault, and there is nothing that you did or didn't do to cause the slow growth. How is everything going now?

Thanks! things are a bit better. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow & she is 4lbs 13oz as of yesterday. Abdomen still small, but not as bad as before. I'm measuring still about 2 weeks behind and I believe the plan is for a C-section at 37 weeks. I've stopped working & am trying to rest so maybe it's helping a little. They had said her fluid and cord blood flow weren't quite right for a couple of weeks there, and told me to make sure I bring my hospital bag to every appointment from now on. Fingers crossed I make it to 37 but I haven't felt well or slept well lately. We shall see!

Awww Casey I'm so sorry that you have been so stressed! I can definitely imagine how nerve wracking that would be! And sometimes it doesn't matter what anyone says, it's always going to be hard to not be worried! I'll def. keep you and little Lainey in my prayers!!! Xoxo, Janna

Aww thank you Janna, that is very sweet! Pregnancy in general can be so dang stressful! But I'm thankful for every day and praying that we get some good and comforting news at our next growth scan!

This is my exact story I'm so very grateful you shared this with everyone. By chance your umbilical cord was in the correct position as well . ? Mine is called voluminous insertion or something like that but everything is working correctly I go again monday but if I'm getting a ultra sound every week something is wrong . My ob didnt want to change my due date either . I had nun of these problems with my daughter at all

For me , they want me doing non-stress test twice a week and an ultrasound every week. Til i give birth. Because baby is at 4% , everything else is ok. It’s super tiring to keep going to these appointments. I’m just wondering if it’s just me.

Hi. Im 26 weeks pregnant, and I was referred to the Maternal Fetal Medicine for further anatomy scans, and they said baby was on the small side too. Im nervous, because they have me return once a week for 3weeks. This is my first pregnancy, so I cant help but blame myself for not eating healthy enough... which I totally do! Tons of water, fruit, veggies... i take my prenatals daily. I couldny help but start crying, it was just too much for me emotionally... im going to follow your story.. i hope all was fine in the end. Michele Lara so sorry you are going through that! I understand how you must be feeling! It's so hard to get news like that. If you're on Facebook, I recommend joining the IUGR Facebook group. There are lots of mommas on there dealing with the same thing. Thankfully, the positive outcomes far out way the bad. It's great that you are seeing a MFM so that they can keep a close eye on you and baby. 💜

I'm so scared!!!!! So at my 30 week scan they said baby's weight was ok but then the belly and arms and legs were mesuring 12 days behind but his head is on track and then I get a call today fr my OB an she says his weight is ok but his measurements are not. So now I'm 31 weeks 3 days and tomorrow I have to have an ultrasound then an nst every week the reat of the pregnancy and they seen somthing with the blood flow to the placenta I'm freaking out here. Hope baby girl his doing great seen her 3 month update wow does time fly. Xo
