Alejandro P What a typical macho attitude. My partner was in the falklands. He suffers PTSD. Hes nearly sixty. He has lost three friends to suicide and they were also in the falklands and served in Ireland. My dad has terrible anxiety which controls his life. Its not just an off day, its pure unrelenting fear of the unknown that can cripple you. There is no cure. So please stop telling people to man up.

Anyone saying he was faking it, or a narcissist etc needs a reality check. Plain and simple. How can you say he is faking/narcissist and yet he actually killed himself? It doesn't make sense. The guy has some serious mental/physical pain and his chemical imbalance was so off that all the medication he tried did not make him better. Never take anything for granted, if you're healthy mentally and physically you are lucky. Many suffer, and genetics and evolution is making it more frequent. How many do you know that has a mental illness such as depression? It is so common now. How many do you know or met that have a mental/physical/chemical imbalance? Probably more then you think you do. All the homeless people you see everyday throughout your cities is a perfect example. It is all around us, and it isn't just simply a drug problem it is a mental health problem. Mental health issues are physical. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain that can translate into physical pain such as Adam. His receptors and signals were not normal and functioned against him. Good luck to all.

I dont even think its a chemical imbalance. I suffer from something similar to this. Its abnormal brainactivity. The only thing that i have "tried" that have actually worked and made me feel normal again for a brief time was Zopiklon, a heavy sleeping pill. I was so relieved that i decided to stay up for a time after taking it. But taking sleeping pills is just not an option for obvious reasons. And its only that one that worked, because it sedates the brain in a specific way. I used to suffer from migrains too as a kid, and that is also caused by abnormal brainactivity.

Euthanasia is a human right. It's for all. Depression is crippling. It's uncurable. It leaves many in excruciating suffering. No one deserves it, nor should they be forced to live that way. The only solution is to have euthanasia readily available. The suffering has to end. Euthanasia ends that once and for all. Don't let the suffering continual anymore. Give them peace.

Yeah me too. While I understand he was suffering I'm not sure this was the answer from a purely medical/psychiatric perspective. He needed long term hospital care if his mental condition was that bad. ECT and similar highly effective and drug free therapies are available. It seems that medication was the only thing that was tried.
@Christopher-ny4kl

@@grace-ellenk5879 ECT reduces symptoms by 50% in 80% of patients. It might be regarded as the "gold standard" in treating treatment-resistant depression, but it's certainly no panacea, not to mention the potential side effect of retrograde memory loss. And I've never read anything about its efficacy in treating chronic pain. And incidentally, Adam did have drug free therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

In October 2018 I had the sudden onset of full body physical pain, all different types of pain from dull, to stabbing, to burning, from head to toe, often accompanied by muscle spasms anywhere from my neck to my calves. I understand how difficult his life must have been to some degree, but having watched his personal account of his experiences I think I'm luckier, because my pain is lower when I'm active, so while I struggle to sleep and relax, I don't miss out on daily life too much. Knowing his pain was triggered by literally doing anything other than sitting still is heartbreaking. I have such respect that he stuck around to get a campaign running and make sure the issue was acknowledged for others before he left. RIP Adam.

I wonder if his life would still be a meanless existence if he had had the funds to get better medical care from somewhere like the US.. he says at the beginning that the doctors here couldn't find the reason for his pain-- which would've been treated had they found an underlying cause. He even says he loved life and didn't want to leave.. all because doctors wouldn't treat his pain.

Just noticed his shirt "Atheist." My heart goes out to those who the western medical model has failed, time and time again. My desire is to bring spirit and soul back into the world of the sick and suffering. We need to start to discuss 5meo, ayahuasca, the works of many alternative plant medicines, mdma therapy, holotrophic meditations, plus a myriad of other healing modalities outside of pharmaceuticals. There's clearly a massive element of connection between mind, body and spirit completely missing from the western model. It's time to bring these other approaches into the mainstream. 🙏

Please try neuro biofeedback training (if you haven't already). It made my life so much better, it almost seems like it's too good to be true, but I literally went from being non-functional and having 20+ panic attacks a week to holding down a job for over 2 years now, and I've had a total of 4 panic attacks since then. I never thought it was possible, but it is.

Years ago my partner attempted suicide. I knew him back then but we weren't anywhere near as close as we are now. He just started his dream career and we will probably be engaged soon, and I can't imagine what life would be like if he hadn't woken up then. You never know how important you might one day be to someone.

Life is about more than the individual. God may have a purpose for your life just the way it is. I say this as a person with decades of chronic continuous pain. It is extremely difficult for myself and sadly for those whom love me. I may never know the importance I am for a plan of Gods. So I wait upon him.

This is classic HP axis dysfunction. His thyroid and adrenals are not working properly leads to profound depression , pain and fatigue. He has ME/CFS . This disease is growing like a wild fire . 65 million people world wide have this rite now and nothing is being done about it . Sickening.

@ciaran perry Hormone replacement therapy is the only option at this point. Cortisol is a crucial hormone without it we are in a debilitating state both physically and mentally. It's a living hell.
@joshwhitney7463
@joshwhitney7463 3 жыл бұрын
@ciaran perry Its the other way around. People with HP axis dysfunction have adrenal insufficiency. They need cortisol replacement therapy. This is why we never feel refreshed after sleep. Our brains are not producing ACTH hormone which stimulates the adrenal glands to produce cortisol and aldosterone.
@joshwhitney7463
@joshwhitney7463 3 жыл бұрын
@ciaran perry Unfortunately majority of doctors know nothing about thyroid function especially if he had thyroid hormone resistance . Meds for addison's disease are corticol steroids like cortef , prednisone, etc. No offense dude you know jack squat about adrenal insufficiency or ME/CFS do some research.
