The Abarth is one of those cars where you know it has quite a lot of flaws, but sounds and drives absolutely crazy hehe 😃👍. Loving this and the Auto Express content :)

A classic case of veering too far from the standard spec? I remember the same happening to Renault 5 GT Turbos when I worked for Renault. The Standard Abarth is actually a great little car.

Definitely. I'd like to try a standard one, I imagine it'd be far better. As it stands, 280bhp in a car that has its roots in the Fiat Panda isn't a great recipe!

As an owner of a striped out 250bhp abarth, I agree about all the things said handling and body. Will I say, by putting an aftermarket steering wheel you get a bit more feel through the wheel, overall a good review 👍

Did you turn the software LSD off (which also reduces TC) to let the Quaife / suspension etc do its job properly? 😊

@@AshrafonCars strange then as traction control very rarely interferes when that is pressed (needs to be done every time you start the car, it does not remember the setting).

@@skodasuperb7100 for the in-car filming I left it on, but it was off the rest of the time for testing. As I said in the vid, it did hang on pretty well if you modulate the throttle, but I was getting a lot of slip when really chasing the throttle. But like I mentioned, it was very cold (2°C). Either way, certainly too much power for the chassis to handle - exciting though!

The previous owner covered the top of the dash in felt, I presume to stop the dash from reflecting on the windscreen. Not the best look!
