Renting is the way to go in Thailand. They give Thais a big discount on buying. As a foreigner you lost money as soon as you buy. There is a surplus of property to rent. You can move if your rented apartment has an issue, or if you see a better one. The real return on "investment" with property buying is less than inflation.
