My DPE showed me a neat trick...this may not be new to a lot of guys but I thought it was cool. He went through a quick stuck pedal lesson with me, he showed me when you have your hand around d the throttle keep your index finger pointed straight out. That way your finger will point in the same direction as your nose when you roll on or off throttle. (Counter clockwise system) he simply rolled on throttle,. swung the ship to the right, then decreased throttle letting it swing to the left, basically turning the whole helicopter into a wind brake. Once our airspeed got down to near zero he said it down perfectly....I asked him to show me again! It's fun to do but very very important to have in your emergency toolbox.
