🚗 I got a new gadget for crafting. Wanna see? It's a brush cleaner, I intend to use it for cleaning paint and mica powders off brushes that i use in my Resin crafts. The big questions are - does it work and if so should you get one?

I hand wash my brushes and hang them over my old art school paint tin. Warm water and dish soap or bar soap does the job! The Monte Python reference was so funny for the instructions! LOL

That rubber disk fits into the inside bottom, there are matching marks or slats where it fits into. It's used for helping to clean the brushes by rubbing them against it while the machine is running.

Nice little tool to have. I might invest in one of those. I usually just wipe my resin brushes with a alcohol towel until they're clean. My good makeup brushes I clean with a scant drop of dish soap that has a degreaser in it, a drop of alcohol in water. Let them soak for a bit then rinse and dry. This will be so much easier.

yep it's a fun little tool and it does work. I do love gadgets. Not sure everyone needs one, so many easy alternatives, but for those who love gadgets, then why not indeed :)

I agree. There's no difference in putting them in soap and water and using the same 3 minutes to clean brushes. Throw the dirty water out. Done. (Plus brushes are supposed to dry with brush "up' ,not down, right?)

yep just turn the lid up the other way or move the brushes to face up. No Im not convinced we need anything like this, but do like gadgets, even if a little pointless :)

I use the tins with the rough sponge inside to clean my brushes they work well. Don't put brushes in the dishwasher. I saw a video of a husband do that to his wife's expensive makeup brushes, and the handles came off because the heat destroyed them all. I think the grey mat is to wipe the excess of the brushes if really dirty. 🤔

Yes it might be I've put mine through the dishwasher k, I think it depends what glue is used to hold them together. Usually just wipe them on my jeans r a wonder wipe then a rinse under the tap though

@miniscenesgb To be honest, I haven't worn makeup in 15 years, so maybe when he put all her morphe brushes into the dishwasher, maybe the tablet detergent might of been stronger. I was just concerned that you might ruin your brushes, but if you have already been using that method without any problems, I apologise if I came across rude in any way that was never my intention. ❤️

No worries. My brushes are in the dishwasher now. Our dishwasher tablets are eco friendly one, maybe that makes a difference. The ones you saw in the video have been through the dishwasher numerous times and so far so good, Though usually I just wipe them off, so I don;;t have to do that often. I think I've had those brushes a couple of years now so it's only once every couple of months fr a good clean

Thanks for showing us. While it may be cool to have, I’d never use it. I can get my brushes pretty clean under the tap and don’t have anything to clean up afterward. I press them on quality paper towels to absorb, let them air dry, and they’re ready to use. 😁

I think the little circle thingy with the pattern may work a bit like a silicone "switch" which is a dry brush cleaner if you have a project where you want to use 1 brush for multiple powders.

Even if it is to mimic one of the dry brush cleaners i think i would advise you to look at the real ones whichever tickles your fancy most.

I think the round thing goes in the bottom of the tube otherwise only the ones in the middle will be cleaned. Never put make up brushes in the dishwasher they will fall apart. Also a drop of baby shampoo is better than dish soap. I use a square of aquarium filter foam to clean my brushes

it doesn't fit in the bottom, I did try that. I'll try baby shampoo thanks for the tip. Thes brushes have been through the dishwasher dozens of times, no issues :)

It's one of those I tested it so you can decide things. I don;t think I would either, if I hadn't already got it out of curiosity. Maybe there are better ones out there. It's kinda cute though

I’ve a brush cleaner similar to this and I’ve used it maybe twice in many years. Also have brush cleaning solution and dish soap works as good. I absolutely love the sponge type brush cleaner. Works amazingly well and super quick. I paid a whopping dollar for it.

Different to mine and mine came with cleaning fluid bought mine from aldi a few years ago mind ,but you buy specific cleaning fluid for them,you can also buy the little sponges in a tin just run your brush on it after using each colour dry called colour switcher or similar

Yeh I'm not convinced by this gadget as I'm sure you got from the video. It's fun, it does work but there's quicker ways to clean brushes. I do like gadgets though :)
