hmm no johnson bar? an no younger crew, even the 765 has several members all under 37, steam must be passed on to the younger ones if it will be alive for long time. with each passing year the old know how to run the old engines gets less and less as the gen that ran them dies off or can no longer run the loco.

You are complaining about how old the crew are? And, yes. The 630 has a Johnson bar, as you see in the beginning of the video; he blows the two whistles, then the headlights, cylinder cocks, and then moves the Johnson bar forward. So, complaining like that tells me you are an entitled idiot.

@@DAPchatt lot has changed in 8 years, but as I said if you dont let the young get seat time they wont learn the individual locomotive, each one has its own soul and idiosyncrasies, as it were since 2016 I have been helping in the shop with nkp 765, I am not the semi ignorant person I was back then, and yes I see the red handled johnson bar now, though some prefer the minute adjustment of a screw reverser give finer tuneing on the cut off, but changing direction takes longer to reel it all the way one direction and then the other, though pm 1225 I belive they have some kind of mechanical fast turn devise to power turn it when changing direction and save the engineers arm,

@@manga12 Oh, okay. These days they have lots of young and old engineers. They have a thing called the under 30 crew. Travis, Joseph, Nick, Justin, Gage, and Tyler. Many more too.

@@DAPchatt ah thats about how many we have, though many historical railroads share people from differant places
