a trick for doing the pin washing. use a syringe with a needle. dull the needle if you want but ive found its a great way to deliver washes into tiny crevices. i add a drop of dish soap to the water i use to thin the paint to help it flow into the cracks.

Great suggestion. It's always the way right, someone mentions something and a light bulb goes off ... this is why I love sharing my success and failures. I have in the studio, somewhere, some needle nose bottles that I used to use to apply glue for acrylics. That stuff is like water and can only flow through those tiny needles. Time to go searching!!

It indeed does suck! I'm not sure I've fully "bounced back", but I'm bouncing at least and feeling much better than I have been over the last few months! Thank you for your kind comment, I constantly remind myself how lucky, fortunate and supported I am.

My son bought a whole stack of this range, and I totally agree, it's awesome on the table, loads of fun to play with, and go together really well. Totally recommend this whole range! And Viv, I love how you've painted them up, Simple, but stunning.

Ah, mate. Sorry you have been in a funk and believe me, you aren't alone in that. Tough times, but we'll get through. For such a quick paint job the buildings look awesome. I didn't realise they were so adaptable. Looking forward to the next video when you're ready.

A lot of the flexibility and modularity in this set was purely coincidental, hehe. We did design some of it, but some of it "just turned out that way". It's a wonderful set and I do very much want to spend a little more time on this specific set. And yes, these times will past "... like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow ...".
@DavesMiniMenagerie

The modularity of the pieces was really cool to see at the end where you were just rearranging them around. These would look really sweet as a sort of overgrown forgotten sci-fi aztec vibe as well I think

That's a great idea! inspired to paint up a set in a sandstone style now, fully based with vegetation etc. OMG, I could use them in a Stargate: SG1 game using 7TV rules!

I got Stargate banned from my hobby sessions with my mates as we ended up watching Stargate and did no hobby stuff at all, these terrain bits look awesome, can't wait to go and have a stickybeak at the shop in Heidelberg when covid has slowed down No regrets, I'll play Stargate again. 👍

I must admit that is also a problem for me! I try to tell myself I "have SG1 on in the background" but 50% of the time I just end up watching. You'd be very welcome to visit the studio, it will be nice when things start opening up again!

For the 'Pin Washing" you can pick up syringes with a dull needle, makes it a hella lot easier than with a brush or use oil washes.. easy to clean up.

Regarding the pin wash & Im not sure if this has been mentioned by others? A coat of gloss varnish over the models may improve the capillary action of the wash & then matt coat the models after you've finished the pin wash.
