2900 Abo Special (Cessna 650)

The aircraft made its first flight in 1979 as the Cessna Citation III.
The Cessna Model 650 (Citation III) was a completely new aircraft that was not based on the Cessna Citation I. It had a larger cabin, 25° swept wings and a T-tail. This enabled a significantly higher cruising speed and range than the previous models, but the swept wing meant that it had significantly worse takeoff performance, especially in hot climates or at high-altitude airfields. The takeoff distance of the Cessna Citation IV and VI was 1533 m under normal conditions and 2612 m at 5000 ft at 25°C.
The Cessna Citation VI was a revised version of the Citation III that was significantly cheaper and had more modern avionics, but this aircraft was only available with standard interior equipment, which is why only a small number of these aircraft were sold.
There were some changes to the Citation VII, in particular it was given significantly more powerful engines to improve the very poor hot & high performance of its two predecessors. The take-off distance under normal conditions is 1509 m and at an altitude of 5000 ft at 25°C it is "only" 2420 m. The take-off weight of the Citation III and VI is 9,980 kg and that of the Citation VII is 10,183 kg, but the more powerful engines also increased fuel consumption, which is why the Citation VII had a slightly shorter range. The range was 4350 km (Citation III and VI) and 4110 km (Citation VII) at a cruising speed of around 880 km/h.
Although the aircraft has not been built since 2000, some are still in use, and they can still be found regularly in Europe, especially with small VIP charter companies.
