Subtitles: EN+RU. Next step towards higher power. This time, nozzles and even larger turbo gave some mad results for this car.
Upgraded parts (from 150hp (ARL stock) to 290hp):
Turbo is based on Garret 2260 and almost completely modified by
FinTurbo (fin-turbo.fi) - its a prototype, which used here.
Nozzles - Firad +80%
Clutch: ZF Sachs Race Engineering
ECU Software: custom by JD engineering
Down pipe: custom by JB autoservice
Exhaust: Seat Cupra R
Suspension: KW 40/40mm
Lower control arm bush: Audi TT
Brakes (front): Brembo 323x28mm + Ferodo pads
Brakes (rear): VW Golf R32
Rims: 18 inch Seat Cupra R
Tires: Continental Sport Contact 3 (225/40/R18)

to all those Nay sayers it's stupid to rev a diesel like that in a car that's tuned by the manufacturer that's true, but look at the numbers here he hit the max horsepower just before the rev limiter and there's more power in higher RPMs with the right tune, but that's expensive as the pistons are very heavy duty in a diesel vehicle, but check the rev limiters in Le Mans Diesel race cars. Peugeot 908 V8 Hdi it's 7.800 rpm and with the Audi R10 TDI it's 8.000rpm why should they rev so high when there's no power, of course there's power, as power is torque multiplicated with rpm, check facts before you comment

Goed werk van Jos en Jeroen!! Ben al blij met de 145 pk in de Golf Plus 1.9 TDI. Dit is helemaal waanzinnig!!!

Рад восторгу! Спасибо и вам за позитив! Приобрел ее со 108.000км. Практически сразу проапгрейдил до 250лс и так два года (около 80.000км) проездил. В данном положении уже 3.000 км проехал. АРЛ блок сам по себе выдерживает спокойно 330лс. Первое, что дает о себе знать это маховик (сцепа и полуоси были заменены сразу, так как сдыхают полсе 220лс оч. быстро). Я дума, что еще 100.000км легко протяну, а может и больше даже ...

Yeah and that makes a lot of smoke, while this car doesn't! Their goal is to make a less-smokey but powerful diesel car. Congratulations for the Toledo now I like diesels. :)

It's properly quick yes, but don't forget about the 10% speedo error (it says 220 on the speedo and 200 on GPS, at 1:06. It's been around 200+ for a while, so the GPS has had plenty of time to keep up, and the 10% difference remains throughout). Still faster than my old hog tho.

Some times - yes, @extreme speeds. Usually it takes 6-7l on 100km. So, I'm quite happy with this consumption.

On a flat highway @130 km/h with cruisce control -> 5.0-5.5 l/100km Mixed style (city + highway + aggressive starts/acclerations) -> 6.5-7.0 l/100km Drag stip start -> 25-30 l/100km ;-) (like them the most), but those are short time peaks.

Thanx! If you mean nozzles by saying valves, then the chance is quite high to get nice power from your block. But the basis should be good from the beginning. ASZ or ARL blocks would surve your target easily. Success in getting good one!

ARP solves your head gasket problems. If they ever occur. My Ibiza with VP engine has been at 230hp and 2bar boost for more than 30k kms and has had zero head gasket issues even with stock bolts! But ye, I have a PD bottom end and a slightly lowered compression ratio. Anyway, nice Toledo!

In 250hp version, I had Fratelli PP783Race nozzles. Current nozzles were prepared by DieselService (check description for links). In both cases, I didn't order them by myself. JB autoservice did have them in place already.

That's because you are over there in the USA but in europe and especially in spain because it is where I live it's the opposite, diesel prices are very low and gas prices for both octanes (95 and 98) are over 30 cents more expensive so it's very common that almost anyone has a diesel car.

In the US the price of gasoline fluctuates a lot. The price of diesel moves very slow. Sometimes diesel costs more than gasoline. But for the last few years diesel is usually cheaper. Today diesel costs the same as our supreme fuel.

Hoi, the nozzles are Firad +80% (+additional adjustments at dieselservice hier locally). The intercooler is still a stock one. Its doing good ... still ;-) And thanks!

It's an PD150 that has the FMIC intercooler, only needs some hard lines to keep the boost from escaping the hoses.

ik neem het wel van je aan. voor de upgrade naar 250 pk had je een ander turbo zag ik. en nu voor de 290 pk een nog groter turbo. Dat tikt snel aan.

Hi Roman, great TDI :) Hope he stills alive! What kind of Sachs clutch did u put on it? Did you still with Dual Mass Flywheel or changed to One Mass Flywheel? If yes, there are so many differences in terms of vibrations and can cause some damage on the gearbox? Regards

It wasn't one step upgrade, so there is no one total price. This is a joined effort project and there were some prototypes used ... I think it was around 7k spread over 2 years.

Its a PD one. VP engines can't handle power over 200hp, thats what I've learned some time ago.

bouw je een lpg installatie in. en rij je op gas :D en dan nog een M knop op het stuur zette zodattie met benzine rijdt :P en ja de toledo zijn ook leuk :) ik had eerder voor een golf gekozen of een audi kwa "volkswagen" catagorie

Thanks mate, on average, nothing had dramatically changed. With factor 2x gain in power I still keep on driving with 6.5 l/100km (city+highway). wat heeft dit allemaal gekost van 150 naar 290 pk? wat ik heb gezien zijn de veringen, uitlaat, inlaatspruitstuk, turbo, verstuivers, banden ect.. zou je niet goedkoper uitkomen als je gewoon een m3 ofso had gekocht die al standaard 343 pk heeft?

it can easily be, as I told an accurate measurement still has to be done. However I've never seen those numbers showed by board computer ;-).

Very goooood modification :) but in my opinion petrol engine is the best option to tuning ;) Diesel engine with 1.9 capacity in the long run time, the engine will be more unreliable as our original, especially when with such a small engine size, we have so much horsepower

drove already 120.000 km with this mode and it's still doing well. And I'm still happy ;-) Petrol engines are good for sure, but very fuel thirsty (in my experience).

mischien een rare vraag maar hoeveel wijkt de teller af ? wat blijft er dan over van de 240+ op de teller kan de tomtom namelijk niet duidelijk zien. heb zelf een skoda 1.8t 20v 240 op teller is 223 gps valt wel tegen vind ik zelf.

Отличная работа Роман !!! Делаю Golf 4 4motion с таким же железом ,в плане мотора. Сейчас настраиваю мозги,в связи с этим возник вопрос: Тебе известны ключевые моменты ,такие как SOI и duration? А может и файл прошивки имеется?

JB Autoservice is een nederlands bedrijf (een link is in beschrijving te vinden). Afhankelijk van de leeftijd van je motor het gaat richting 350pk / 730Nm.

Variable turbo spools at whatever rpm you need it to after 1500 rpm to maximise torque and hp output for that rpm and this seat is equivalent to a mk4 golf and I have a 1.9tdi with a 2.0 tdi engine and it's nothing special

I was driving my car today and I was at 1200 rpm and booted it to 4400 and after 1600 it really picked up the pace and pulled like a train all the way through the Rev range e.g ruler flat torque because of the variable geometry turbo there was a small amount of lag for a second or to from 1200 to 1600 that's due to very small turbo lag but can be compensated by brake boosting

Ow... ja, een kapotte vacuüm slang komt (gelukkig) wel vaker voor. Het zou maar een kapotte turbo zijn... dat is een hele dure grap.

Your Bora is the same in terms of engine - you can have the same setup easily. Its a joined effort project, so I can't give you 'from scratch' price. Still I think you have to count @serveral k of euros.

Nice job man! I know that I will probably sound like an idiot asking this question but how many mpg (Miles per gallon) are you getting. Im interested but I dont want to be spending rediculous amounts on fuel. Your reply would be appreciated

in mixed mode 6.7l /100km. So, its quite ok for driving around. I'll make an apart episode on fuel consumption soon.

I have 2004 Toledo tdi sport 150bhp and I am absolutely impressed by your project.what did you started of and what was your target? I mean what brake power or torque did you want to reach at a beginning? I think I would be happy with 200bhp.would it take much to get there? mashina zver.

Hi, my 'good enough' target was ca. 250hp. I even think it was the best choice. 290hp I've got due to the next level experiment ;-). I'm happy with result. If you want to stop @200hp, you don't need all of those mods. I have an episode about TDI tuning stages/gradations. Success with your upgrade!

Hi sir, i am 17 and i love cars, i am about to get a seat (dont know which one) tdi 1.9 (my question is) without the catalyzer and upgraded exhaust, with the turbo, and some high end valves.. Will the car run as good as this one? :P Nice car BTW ! :)

Quick question here, I live in Australia and hence don't have access to Seat's, however we do have a few Skoda's. Do you know if this one in the link has the same engine as your car (it appears very similar to me) - www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Skoda-Octavia-2007/SSE-AD-2592304/?Cr=1&sdmvc=1

no it isn't. To be for 100% sure, one need the engine - code (ARL/ASZ), but the car in that ad has 5-gear box. So, it is definitely less than 130hp one (may be even less than 110 hp).

Maad Dan The car from the add is with pump-duse engine as the one in the video, but it`s with BXE/BKC engine which is 105ps stock and maybe the only thing in common with ARL/ASZ is the block.
