Hey HSH, cool content as always :) I have a question regarding Ariados IVs: I hava a pretty high ranked 0/12/15 Ariados and a shiny 11/4/10. 11/4/10 are horrible IVs, but it maxes out at 1499 and you said high Attack is recommended over high-ranked, so my question is: Which one would you build?

You can use PVPoke’s matrix feature to see what the Pokémon’s stats will be if you build it. Yours with 11/4/10 has 129.9 attack. For comparison, Henry’s with 11/12/15 has 126.8 attack. You’d be winning CMP in the mirror basically every time. If you want an Ariados that can win mirror matchups and against Feraligatr in the 1 and 2 shield scenarios, go with the high attack IVs. But you will lose against Shadow Feraligatr in the 0-0 shield scenario with those IVs, according to the sims.

Higher atk in this case means you beat the cmp tie against Feraligatr (since you reach trailblaze in the same counts as Fera reaches hydro cannon)

@@jamesmorgan704it doesn’t make you reach a charge move faster, you always will pace at the same rate if you have equal energy. You have a higher attack. Higher attack is way the game checks and decides which Pokémon gets to fire there charge move first in the case both players click it at the same time. Low attack ariados loses that priority against gatr and will always go second, high attack ariados wins it and will always go first. Go check out pvpoke you will see a 0-15-15 ariados will have a way lower attack then 11-15-15
