Feedback - Virpil: Allow the faceplate to be interchangeable or a gasket type cover. Either design a number of set templates or allow individual customisation. Rather than a sticker solution, this allows for a customizable experience between GA, Airliners, Helos, Combat etc.

Looks like you can unscrew the top cover. Should be possible to get something 3d printed or cut a piece to fit? But obviously that still doesn't solve the label issue :D

Been using this panel since Nov 2022 with Virpil throttle, stick and pedals. I only fly in VR so the labels don't mean a thing to me. I fly DCS and MSFS2020 jets, warbirds, GA planes and helis. This panel suites me as a secondary panel on my right side just fine. It was a worthwhile purchase. The keys are laid out in a way I can navigate them without seeing them while in VR. The toggle switches, especially the 3 way, work out great for arming a targetting laser, nightvision, IHADDS adjustments(ah64). I use the 2 black throttles on this panel as ah64d power throttles and the VPC throttle for collective. I use the momentaries just behind the black throttles for engine idle/off on each of 2 engines. The momentary switches are good for turning labels on/off in DCS, bring up re-arm panel, map, F4 manual, kneeboard...

I have been using the Sharka since release. Brilliant control panel. As another said, friction of the axis can be adjusted internally. A couple of tips - use a label printer for custom labels for the clear cap buttons and to cover the existing labels. The mode selector you use for magnetos, this can be used as a modifier which I have linked to the adjacent encoder. I use this to control autopilot i.e. position one sets the encoder for HDG - push down to select HDG mode and rotate encoder to change heading. Position two sets ALT, push encoder to enable ALT hold and rotate to select a different altitude. Position three for VS speed and so on. You can also have the backlighting change depending on which position the mode selector is at to add a further visual cue. Agreed that the Sharka is the better option than the similar #3 panel.

BRILLIANT 👌👍. For YEARS I was looking for a control panel like this (flight simmer for over ten years now). It's almost a jack of all trades. I'm constantly switching between GA and helicopter flying, with emphasis on helicopter. And this small, versatile box has made my flight sim journey so much easier. I prefer a tidy, clean home cockpit where I don't have to exchange controllers during my desktop time; it should be as simple and efficient as possible, but also immersive. Additional to this universal controller box I also bought a Virpil collecitve base & grip and the panel-collective adapter for this box. Oh man, after so man years my almost dream set-up came thru. Cons: The price tag including VAT is preety steep 😧, yes it is. But if you are an avid flight simmer it pays off after a short period of time in so many ways. And I also could daisy chain this box to my collective; cable management is a breeze. Instead of many various different controllers and more cable clutter, I now have a cleaner home-cockpit too.

Check out the manual and you will find that you can adjust the tension of the control levers.

Looks interesting. Went to their website , found the manual, 1st thing is what's in the box, 2nd is tools required to assemble / modify, 3rd is how to adjust the axis lever force (take the bottom off, adjust these nuts with an 8mm spanner). Virpil North America is the only place you can buy this and they only ship to US Canada and Mexico, Virpil EU doesn't list them, Virpil GB is out of stock, and the Chinese store is, well, in Chinese ...

Virpil should re-label the switches as a GA box and call it . . .50-GA. I am looking for one unit for the twin engine aircraft. I'm not into the jets but this box looks to be perfect for the propellers. Thanks! !! !!!

8:10 I understand this is your preference. But the problem with latched switches, used for home flight simulators entusiasts, is that in sim, as opposed to real world, you can start your flying under different conditions. You can for example start being in the air already on final. But all your switches are in off positions, as opposed to virtual ones that are in on position. So your physical switch doesn't align with virtual one any more. Two way momentary solves that problem pretty well. They stay neutral regardless your virtual counterpart so it doesn't matter in what state that virtual switch is at the minut. And if you are not sure in which position a switch is, but you know in which it should be, you can always just push a switch up for on or down for off (not even looking at it). So you have all scenarios covered. The worst combination is latched physical switch with virtual toggle switch xd . You can end up having your switch do exactly opposite of what you intend to switch with it, in no time xd. I presume that problems, that I've been just refering here, was exactly thouse, that Virpil put momentary switches to the newer version of Sharka50 panel (called Universal Control Panel #3). But of course each to their own :)

SweeeeeT 😋 Love it!❤ I have the Apache collective and grip with the ace anti-torque. I've never had such a fine top shelf product. I got the first batch of the combined collective and balancer. I got the first batch of the Ace anti-torque with the slider adjustments. I tell you I've been around in half quite a few things in the closet now. But VPC is not one of them. Ty for the demonstration and the tutorial. Very well done 🇺🇸⚓🩵

Wouldnt mind having one of these as an addon to my airliner sim so that I have extra controls when flying GA multi engine. But $300 is crazy high

Fantastic video, because it is like testing it in a shop using/testing the device. Very useful. Question: Do you need to use the Virpil software, or you just use it directly in FS?

Seems like one or more overlays would be a simple solution to the labels issue.

Great video as usual and thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to your next video. Is it the VPC Control Panel #3? I'm in the process of setting mine up and I have an open ticket with Virpil. Correspondence has been via email. I'm trying to get setup for DCS then MSFS later. The problem that I'm running into is that the firmware in the VPC suite is not updating without a device attached. I also get a warning message when I attach the control panel that the firmware is outdated. Could you include the setup process in your next video? The manual doesn't go into enough detail and as I'm paranoid about "bricking" my device! Maybe a step by step could be useful and serve as the go to link for Virpil. The support ticket is being responded to from Lithuania and I fear any small detail being left out or being lost in translation. Thanks for all you do for the Flight Sim community!

It's common practise that KZbinrs must return the products to the mancufacturers. In rare occasions they can keep the product, but this is an exception. In many cases the same product circles around among various KZbinrs because of this agreement, which is funny somehow 😄. Particular within the tech-world.

Thanks for the review ! Particularly waiting for the version with non latching switches and non specific labels since there is basically none on youtube. The specific labels are a no go for me, having labeled switches and using them for something else is just not in line with my life plans 😂 also I read that with the latching switches, you can end up with non matching switches states between the sim and the hardware, didn't you experience that ? Thanks again ✌️
