First off there is no such thing as an assault weapon. Banning that bans any, if not all guns. Assault is an action. The government ignores what the real issue is and what the root to all of these shootings comes from. Mental health needs to be taken seriously and no one is paying attention to that. We are punishing good, law abiding citizens, for an action of assault caused by a hand full of people. In fact taking guns away won’t prevent a mentally disturbed individual from committing assault.
