It´s not exactly endless though... after ending E, if you watch the Farewell epilogue official stage play, it shows they both get repaired and have a chance at living a peaceful life. This is probably the only real hopeful ending Yoko Taro ever wrote.

@user-jf6lu4fz4w I think that, in the grand scheme of Taro, he gave one hopeful ending. But it is also possible for other endings to also exist simultaneously. There is a lot of fragmentation of time in the stories of Nier, Drakengard, and Sinoalice, or just Taro's storytelling in general.

But this is just the cannon ending, if you consider all the other crazy endings available, yeah, the story could end in many different ways.

Indeed. But for me what makes it even better is the placement of the music. The silence and audible ambience before the song start really makes a great clarity and contrast of the sound. They did a great job setting up this scene. There are Animes that constantly have a different bgm consecutively playing during an 'emotional' scene, and they rather failed to draw out any resemblence of.. you know... emotion.

This anime is just taking it's sweet time to adapt one of the most touching, epic, with the best seiyuus emotionally working performances, one of the best OST games with important lessons to humankind ever made. Seriously guys, play this game, find all the secret files and documents, this game left a mark on me. Just hope they can adpat the true ending that was not in the game but in the seiyuus live performance years ago. 2B's seiyuu could barely hold her tears during the sessions.

I beat the game's main endings two years ago and watching this makes me want to CRY, SOB, PUNCH my screen, SCREAM, start a RIOT, CRY again, waste all my money on 9s figurines and SOB.
