Something about Pikmin is that most of the path finding was laid out in predefined paths made from nodes. Pellets and parts are moved to the nearest node and then follow the path to the onions and the ship.

yeah, also moved treasures, dont actually remember their exact location between days. they are subtly moved to the closest treasure node, which are placed on the path, a treasure would usually take, like a checkpoint. its quite a memory efficient way, to give the illusion of object permanence, so players wont usually notice, when they resume work the next day.

Let me break the magic mirror a bit, most of what he did is use stuff people have done for him and just put it together, so called "asset flip", which is perfectly alright for the video i don't hold it against him, but there's not much "skill" used in this video either On th other hand it shows how good game dev got so that you can make simple game like this so fast and you can focus on more important elements like story and models and animations and polishing
@PsychEngel
@PsychEngel 2 ай бұрын
@@the_mister_magister I would also say, that's very impressive how development progressed, so you can make a PS1/2 game in 24 hours on your own. Sure you need definitely some more time to polish it and remove bugs, but the base is made in 24 hours and the rest isn't as bad, as it sounds, at least in this case.

It's hard as shit and I'm not learning nearly as fast as I'd like to, but seeing how vastly you've improved since I first found your content is super motivating. This video was incredible, from the game itself to the comedic editing and script, down to the absolute deluge of animations that you've made. Your character is so much more fluid now, though just as loveable as ever :) I always look forward to seeing you upload, excited to see what awesome project you come up with next!

Here's a crazy idea for a Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS): A "100% RNG Manipulation Marathon" in a game like Pokémon Red/Blue or Final Fantasy. This TAS would focus on manipulating Random Number Generators (RNG) in the most absurd and creative ways possible, achieving improbable outcomes that no human player could replicate consistently. Here's what could happen: Key Ideas: 1. Always Catch Shiny/Legendary Pokémon: Manipulate the RNG so that every wild encounter is a rare shiny or legendary Pokémon, even in places where they shouldn't be encountered. It would make the audience question reality! 2. Instant Critical Hits/Max Stats: Every single attack lands a critical hit, every stat boost from leveling up hits the max possible value, and even the enemy AI behaves in predictable ways (e.g., always using moves that don't work). 3. Frame-Perfect Item Drops in RPGs: Manipulate enemy drops to get the rarest items every single time, breaking the game by getting ultimate equipment within minutes of starting. 4. Skip Random Encounters or Alter Worlds: Use frame-perfect movement to manipulate encounter checks and avoid or initiate fights at just the right times. Or even force the game to load unintended maps by messing with the RNG values of certain events. 5. Glitch World Runs: TAS could intentionally corrupt or glitch the world as it progresses, causing hilarious and random transformations of the game world, characters, and story. 6. Perfect Minigame RNG: In games like Mario Party or Zelda, win every single minigame by manipulating chance-based mechanics with impossible precision, so it feels like you are literally controlling the game's soul. 7. Custom Ending Manipulation: Through some obscure RNG manipulation or glitch, the TAS could unlock bizarre, unintended endings or credit sequences, adding a unique twist to an otherwise predictable ending. The TAS would feel like it’s bending the rules of reality, making the impossible not just possible but inevitable!

Lol, the chaos energy in this video is off the charts! 😂 I love how you always make coding seem like a wild adventure. It’s like Pikmin, but with coding instead of little plant dudes. Can't wait for more crazy ideas! 🌱🚀

Amazing! I was smiling throughout the entire video. The part where the monster wouldn’t stop following created a sense of dread that some movies struggle to achieve. Then, the sad ending, with the men dying while fighting as he tried to save them. A masterpiece :))
