Hello and welcome to Train Simulator Classic!
Today we're back on the absolutely fantastic Class 745 "Stadler FLIRT" from Alan Thomson Sim. We're driving the latter part of the journey from Cheshunt through to Stansted Airport on a crisp summer morning.
We're driving a 745/1 which comes in a fully standard class configuration, unlike the 745/0 which has the first class and cafe bar available. This is also modelled which is a really nice feature, and gives us a standard class passenger view. What a great little run!

/0 and /1s often interwork depending on availability, I believe GA are going to have the /1s fitted with tables etc

R.I.P the 379 on Stanstead Express. The 745 is much better, though its first class could be better. Some class 379s are moving to Great Northern I think.

GOOD NEWS! The Class 379s are being transferred to Great Northern as a class 57 was pulling one to hornsey depot from Newark Northgate

22:54 it still is abellio you know joe, i applied for a depot driver role the other day and after one of the assessments, its like the site went from GA to totally abellio, even if had to blink twice😂 So you saying this comes to mind and defo made me know that these lot are still fully under the abellio umbrella

Ignoring the price this is a good train greater anglia has really stepped up investing in a hole new fleet of modern traction think of cross country who run 3 car 170,s and even 2 cars in some cases all the way from Birmingham to Stansted Airport.

Yeah I completely agree with you TJ! It's mental how much the Greater Anglia fleet has completely changed over the course of just a few years! I miss the 321/317/360/170/156/153s though, it was a brilliantly varied network!

I am looking forward to getting the diesel version of this train as I would like the TFW version for use on the Welsh routes. I hope that ATS/Gu Studios will have the permit to use the Transport for Wales branding.

Greater Anglia do use 745/1s on Norwich to London a causally but recently they have been using two 755 4 cars and a 3 car to make a 11 car to boost up the timetable. As when the Class 90s ran they had 12 sets where now they only have 10 745/0.

When you put the signal number in the gsmr, it’s the last 3 numbers of a 4 digit signal number or all 3 or 0 before a 2 digit. If that makes sense. 😂

My old line. I used to live at Enfield lock. Used to dispatch trains at Tottenham hale for 11 years

I used to live near cheshunt and used to live in bishop's Stortford I work in Harlow

Earlier and some late trains stop more and sometimes go down seven sisters instead of tottenham hale. Main services down here are Liverpool St/Stratford - Herford East, Bishops Stortford - Stratford and Cambridge/Cambridge North/Ely(peak) to Liverpool St. Decent services down here tbf. The door lights are like that IRL as well

Yes the Stansted units do go onto the GEML but its always a pain because they dont have tables which makes sense on Stansted runs but not on runs to Norwich

Back in the day it used to be £10 return livst to stansted class 322. And only 30mins. Livst-tott-stansted

so the stopping patterns past Cheshunt are typically 2 to Cambridge North, 2 to Bishops Stortford and 2 to Hertford East 1 train to Cambridge North calls at all stations. 1 train to Bishops Stortford also calls at all stations and the Hertford East trains branch off at Broxbourne the other train to Cambridge North is semi fast stopping at Broxbourne, Harlow Town, Bishops Stortford, Audley End, Whittlesford Parkway, Cambridge and Cambridge North while the faster Stratford to Bishops Stortford service calls at Broxbourne, Harlow Town, Sawbridgeworth and Bishops Stortford Cheshunt also has a regular Stansted Express service to London in the morning and a regular 3TPH service in the evening peak between 1700-1930 which have weird stopping patterns after Harlow Town

4:09 you do joe, i went on one for the first time yesterday from Tottenham hale. I miss the 317s and 379s but i do think one cool thing about these 745s is the difference with the higher parts in standard class. But apart frm that i dnt like that the 720s are so tight in the gangways, could never understand why they would design a train like that

Joe I was wondering if you get an ATS subscription, keep it for a year, buy the train, and then not renew it, do you still have access to everything that you bought that’s sub-only even after cancelling the subscription? Just curious!

You keep access to everything you had purchased, you wont be able to reinstall any sub ware after it runs out but you can keep what you already have, so make sure you back the files up somewhere.

just to get things out of the way the stop mark is in the wrong place as that is a staff only area at Cheshunt, how do I know that well... I'll keep it a secret but in all seriousness it's a shame the dev isn't continuing building the route into LST, I was working on a similar project under the WAGN route many years ago where we could do LST-HFE-SSD hbut I will admit that I did rush a lot of the scenery as I'm not too good with spending time on scenery as I want things done as quick as possible just like the drama regarding the 745 pack

6:37 with stansted express, the most they sometimes do in real life is stop at harlow town or stansted mountifichet, i have no idea why this is making you stop at chesunt and broxbourne🤷🏽‍♂️ I personally hate when things are not done authentically. And no a flirt would never go up the hertford east branch, it probably cant even fit on the platform, havent been there in years tho, all i can remember is the big tesco

Fantastic video joe after the stream i went to buy this. And i was very impressed its a pleasure to drive i have been driving it up and down the brakes well(thay might as well not be ther)😂😂 but after driving it for a bit you get used to it i love how detailed this train is 37.99 is quite expensive but with how good it is you no what it's worth every penny

I agree Imran! I'm really glad to hear you're loving it! I'm not going to lie, even though I said I probably wouldn't get much use out of this train, I have been having a cheeky little drive of it up and down the GEML :P
