Sir the definition of PROOFTEXTING is using one's own presuppositions, doctrinal bias, agendas therefore using EISEGESIS ( which is reading into the text and not applying correct exegesis and sound hermanutics to interpret a biblical text. If as u claim nothing is wrong with that then all other religious sects who apply the same to interpret scriptures r also correct. The same method applied by adventism for 1. The 3 angels message 2. The spirit of prophecy 3. Jesus is Archangel Michael 4. Daniel 8, 14 1844 INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT SANCTUARY DOCTRINE Etc. This is wrong

I don't think there's anything wrong with prooftexting, bro. It's perfectly reasonable to question doctrine; one must be sure that a teaching lines up with scripture in its entirety. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20. At the end of the day, if you don't believe in the God of the sabbath and his son, who is Lord of the Sabbath, then you probably have a different God.
