Also, bc everyone already knows Leo usually throws the first set if he's in winners to play longer. That's why the commentators were saying "We know this script already." No one at all thought Leo was going to lose because he always does this. Just throws the set & then destroys his opponent. Even Gluttony didn't look happy during his wins in the first set probably because he already felt tis way too. I think it's just Leo's meta strategy to demoralize his opponent if they do happen to win the games which makes them perfect prey.

Along with the fact that the same people who barely beat him like Tweek(2nd best player PGR) he turned around & 6-0ed in other tournaments? Even then, I would argue that he did let the first sets go easy & lost the second one by being too confident in the strategy he usually does. If he would just play at full ability from the get-go Leo wouldn't lose as much. That however would be boring & not as flashy & like I said, he would play less & get a worse PGR ranking.

MkLeo. The first 3 wins by Glutonny reset the bracket (as Glutonny was on the Losers' side of the tournament) such that MkLeo was sent to Loser's side. From there, MkLeo won the next 3 games to secure the tournament. In a Grand Finals match, the person on the losing side effectively has to win 6 times before the person on the winning side of the bracket wins 3 times.

That's basically how most Smash tourneys work. If you lose a match during your first go through, you get sent to Loser's. From there, if you lose while in Loser's, you are eliminated from the tournament. Gluttony lost at one point in the tournament, so he got sent to Loser's. He won the Loser's part of the tournament and got to face against MkLeo, the Winner of the Winner's part of the tournament. Gluttony needed to win 3 times before MkLeo won 3 times to send MkLeo to Loser's (which he did). However, once MkLeo got sent to Loser's, he won all games against Gluttony. If Gluttony wanted to win, he would've needed to win 3 matches before MkLeo won 3 while MkLeo was on the Winner's side and win 3 matches before MkLeo won 3 while MkLeo was on the Loser's side. MkLeo only needed to win 3 matches on either side (either all on Winner's or all on Loser's as opposed to both like Gluttony) to win the tournament. Does that make sense to you? If you want more info on how that works, look up "Double Elimination" rules for tournaments.

Tournaments essentially have two brackets. If you lose in the first bracket, you are placed in the losers bracket but still have a chance to win the whole tournament if you do well the in the loser's bracket. Gluttony was eliminated in the winner bracket earlier, but won the loser's bracket so he has another shot to take down Leo. The first best of three is to "flip" the bracket essentially so when Leo lost, Leo is now in Loser's bracket so he gets another shot at winning the whole thing. This is pretty typical for Leo since he generally uses the first bout to learn his opponent before kicking his game up in the 2nd bout.
