The only thing he stated which is factual concerns when Leo used Marth first, which in itself doesn't imply anything about anything else. He said "Wario struggles against swordies, and this is MKLeo," but I can respond with "He barely plays Marth, and this is Gluttony we are talking about." So why is one valid or not the other? El de Losers ya perdió un set en el torneo y tiene que ganar los otros dos, pero el de winners no ha perdido ninguno y sólo tiene que ganar un set. L'indécis de nature Not really. Marth is considerably worse than Lucina, but he is still a high tier. From an objective standpoint, there is no reason to buff Marth, especially when characters who are dying for major buffs, such as Isabelle, Little Mac, Kirby, Bowser Jr., or Piranha Plant, exist. Objectively, the best way to balance the game is by giving buffs to the worst of the worst. If anything, Leo just is not used to Marth all that much in this game. He has not needed to play characters with such strict spacing in his Ultimate career, it's only natural he'd struggle to win against Gluttony, one of the best in the world, in grand finals. It's comparable to Nairo not having been able to win against Marss using Ganondorf in the same tournament where he beat Light. Nairo is a Palutena player, so of course going Ganondorf is not going to just grant him the win. People don't understand that, while characters do matter, it's ultimately player skill what matters the most. That may not have been the case in Smash 4, but it certainly has proven to be the case in Ultimate.

Leo is just a god of Smash so he looked better against inferior comp. When up against the best player in Europe marths weaknesses become clear. Marths' biggest problem is that none of his moves do enough blockstun. Lucina can space attacks so that they are safe on block since her normals are more active than Marth. Against Marth Glutonny found his way to take 3 games in a row and even with Joker he kept Mkleo at the edge of losing, is not like Mkleo easily defeated him, so kudos to Glutonny to put up a good match.

Ethan Mickanen The commentators explained it: Gluttony was already at a very high percentage, and MKLeo used Down Throw as opposed to any other throw to mix-up Gluttony's DI. Therefore, Gluttony DIed incorrectly, as he did not expect the Down Throw, which caused the move to KO earlier than it normally would, which is exactly what Leo wanted. Yes, DIing wrong will cause you to die earlier than without DI. This is how DI works.
