It's worth mentioning that the wasteland has the occasional landmine scattered about, making that running away from the dogs extra terrifying. At first they can be really hard to spot on the ground texture, especially the hubcap landmines.

Nopes. Within the wasteland biome. Some may be close to a road, but usually they're hard to see and guaranteed heart attack material. Seems you didn't venture much in that biome or just were incredibly lucky :D

Desert also has aloe for better bandages. I love the desert. Just build on the northern boarder so you can get trees easy. Yucca and aloe in unlimited amounts makes life good.

Me and a friend spent the first night in a old house in snow biome, fixed up the walls and doors, put fire barrels and campfires down and we still were freezing to death. We needed 5 fire barrels next to us just to prevent death long enough to run at dawn. Pretty sure the snow biome just becomes a death zone during a blizzard

The wasteland is easily the most dangerous livable biome because of random hard to spot land mines, packs of zombie dogs which are scary for early game, feral walkers which are the toughest bastards ever, cops which can easily kill you if you don't watch your stamina and the general extremely high zombie spawning of the area, also don't forget the dangerous city hub which is littered with cops dogs feral and normal zombies, I've never lived in the wasteland before and don't plan to. But the creepy ambience is so cool and scary I get so many chills of it. The wasteland biome is probably my favorite, not for gameplay, just a favorite biome of mine.

I think what they should do is make a random gen the size of navezgane instead of infinite. But random gen so it's different every time. And the ability for the server owner to edit the map and make the map only have certain biomes.

Yeah on the blueberry bushes in the snow biome-- they changed it to snowberries. You can only eat 2 or 3 of those before you start getting sick. Dogs dont seem to spawn there. I have yet to see one. Maybe I just got lucky. But starting out in snow is AWFUL. I think its as bad as the wasteland. You have plant fiber clothing which doesnt do much in terms of warmth. So you try to get out and you keep having to stop and build a fire so you are chopping stones and trees the whole way. And then you run into a lumberjack. If I start in the wasteland or snow, I usually will just reset. I made it out one time in snow. Desert to me is easier. You can run in your underpants and theres all that yucca.

The ideal place to spawn is in a desert next to a plains or forest biome get all the yucca, aloe vera you can, get some sand and clay to make adobe which is one of the best starting blocks for building with then go set up your base in the plain or forest.

Desert isnt deadly... you just craft cowboay hat and leather pocho an you are 90% time safe... you can find shorts and you are 100% from weather with -40

Also, the burnt Forrest with the burn zombies, idk if it's something brand new in the game or not, but I just found out that sometimes (very rare) you can get charred meat from "skinning" a burn zombies corpse with a knife. Usually before it turns into the first gore block or second. Just when it's his full body on the ground. It'll randomly give you charred meat. Which is good and bad. Good for food, bad for smell.

I love the desert. If you can find a cowboy hat, t-shirt, and shorts you're golden. Yucca juice is basically free while hydrating and cooling your temp.

Damn. In two years they removed the plains biome, log spikes, pine forest, water biome and several classic features. Now we got predictable jump scare zombies, every house is infested, Bears inside houses, a crappy skill system and those god awful vultures and snakes....

IDK, I consider the desert biome, the easiest, because of Yucca. Yes, the snow and burnt ones are really bad. As to the fallout/red zone, when it is next to the desert biome, you "can " skirt right around the edge , and go in a few feet for a few seconds to chop the big trees, for wood, then back out before you die . Instead of chopping every piece of driftwood you see in the desert. This method only works after you have stacks of first aid kits for the rad damage. You can wrench cars on the edge too, but by then, all those components you already got stacks of.

Pretty sure you got your tea effects backwords. Red (chrysanthemum) tea cools you, goldenrod has no effect, veg or meat stew warms up. Yucca juice also cools but you need empty jars to make

Frozen + Desert has an additional zombie hardness. Frozen has super HP zombies in pretty big numbers, Desert has Zombie-Dog packs. 6-8 at the same time roaming the land.

best is to set up in desert that is next to a forest. in desert it is easiest to set up trenches and food/drinks (yucca fruits/juices from captuses etc).

U forgot to mention the feral walkers also spawn in wasteland and zombie bees and zombie bears spawn there which are far worse than the dogs recommend carrying a spiked club it's super effective and upgrade all blunt weapons and pummel Pete it will almost always be a one hit also I believe the wasteland is a destroyed city

Don't downplay the desert, it's the easiest place to find bird nests. Yucca is also good because it gives small amounts of fullness because it also gives stamina so you can use it in the early game to rack up stamina when you lack the regen.

I have farmed: corn, potatoes, blueberries, yucca, mushroom, coffee beans, golden rod, & chrysanthemum. Has anybody found anything else to plant? You can eat snowberries like a snack but basically "overdose" on them if you don't have anything else. I've found seeds for pine & maple trees but wondering if anyone has found anything else in the neighboring towns? Also, has anybody caught any fish?

+Kyle Kissack It can grow normaly in snow biome first only problem is that its hard to find dirt direcly because there a layer of snow on top usually. You have to bring dirt from ther biomes and make a farm yourself. If you want you can enclose them and place iron bars above to get sunlight
