Ore is rarely (if ever) only 1 block wide. If you leave 3 blocks between shafts, you will cover more ground easier. I make my shafts 3 blocks high because it exposes an additional 2 blocks for the cost of digging 1 more block. I also leave 3 blocks between levels because this exposes more with less digging.

I find it much easier to just dig to bedrock and start mining down there. No zombies to worry about. plus i tend to actually find bit more ore down at bedrock lvl. and on a Plus Note. at bedrock. you can have forges and campfires and not have to worry about zombies getting to you if you protected up top. IE covered the hole up with at least 2 blocks. or if like in a bunker placed a hatch down so if zombies do get in. thur door ways they cant get down. also good tip make a 2nd exit somewhere. so it have at least a exit somewhere.

There is a much simpler and more efficient way to find ore. When you find a rock on top (Iron, Coal, Shale, Lead or Nitrate) - start digging there. It is always on top of whatever is located in that area. Just follow the ore - no need for horizontal shafts and searching. When you are lucky you find a second ore in the same mine.

this style works well for minecraft, and I've used something similar, however, I often felt that a taller shaft, about 5blocks tall, worked better for me, especially in said minecraft, considering the heights diamonds are found in. however for 7DTD this strategy doesn't really work. in newer alphas, just look on the surface for gravel patches, or dig in much more spread out ways.

I usually run from them till I get some good weapons the best thing to do is dig down to bedrock there you can hide till you have gathered enough stuff to build a base that can withstand a horde or find a concrete building to make a base on the roof and lots of spikes to kill the zombies that attack if you do that don't forget to smash the bottom latter block you can jump to climb but zombies cannot or look up how to make an elevator and get rid of the later all together trust me an elevator is cool and simple easy to do early on

+Christian Cecrle If you play on console(alpha 14) then 7 day horde can be avoided by being underground. You could mine entire night and they couldn't get to you. On pc(alpha 15) they fixed zombie ai a little bit and they can go for the ladders but simply placing hatch door can bug their ai again.

Rocks, Stone, Potassium Nitrate, Iron, Lead, Dirt, Crushed Sand, Oil Shale. Also rare gems like Silver, Gold and Diamonds. All these as of Alpha 15. All those ores are all as important one as another, Even the rocks because it is needed for cobblestone, cement and blunderbuss and much more.

I did this in Minecraft pe when they had a fixed map (no endless maps) at the very bottom right above the first layer of bedrock. And I kept getting lost in vast area of tunnels, so I mined at the rock between the tunnels, and now I have a secret lair under ground aka giant monster spawner.

Matters not if its old vid, get notif anyways :D Game has changed a lot and now it takes more hits than it used to. You could 1hit a stone , now u simply cant even with all buffs. Getting max strength attribute and everything mining related will maybe bring it down to 2 hits. Good luck

Ah cool. I had just watched your guide about it and you mentioned how you shouldn't mine under buildings as it might collapse. What is the integrity of like the stone you find in the ground? and would say, a wood frame, support more weight if it is like adjacent to say, concrete blocks on all lateral sides (like if you placed it in a tube of strong blocks)? Also it is worth mentioning that if you place something under a block that is only supported by the side of say a wall, and then remove it, the block will fall. I did this on a jims cars sign with a torch on the bottom and the last block fell when i removed the torch.

This is not the best method. Dig shafts on the 4th row over if there is a vien of ore you will see it on one side or the other. You should also stager mine shafts on deeper levels. When in god mode or x-ray it should look like a staircase not halls above halls

7DtD does not contain the vast cave systems that Minecraft has, along with no lava. So there is no chance of falling into a giant cave chamber or lava pool. Although there are SOME caves in 7DtD they are few far between and are actually prefabs

From the Patch Notes: Ore distribution 2.0 + Updated surface ores. All biomes have iron ore and a rare chance for all ores. Each biome has a predominate ore which can be seen in small piles on the surface and found in that biome near bedrock. Special ores per biome are nitrate in snow and wasteland, lead in the maple and pine forests, coal in the plains and burnt forests, and oil shale in the desert. You can also look for light brown gravel spots on the ground or the map and dig down from there to find the resource veins. Clay can be seen as a medium brown spot on the surface.

If the block durability is normal it should take 2 hits. Also if you put block durability down it makes the blocks you place weak as well.

The technique you described is a way of finding all ore in a certain space. It does not increase efficiency as measured by ore per time spent mining. The reasons is that digging rows will not increase the probability of finding ore more than digging a single row (for a greater distance). Since 7D2D has a very large map, there is no reason not to dig a singe row?

Minecraft generates very large caves sufficient in height to kill the player if they dig into it from on top. 7 Days mostly has solid ground because its level of graphical fidelity makes underground caves more resource intensive.

you don't have to mine like in minecraft... here you only need to find gravel, that's it... when you find it, remove it and you will find ores... not so complicated... what i like to do is... dig 30 blocks (it's usually the half on a flat biome) make a 2 by 1..... look at the center of the 2 blocks that are in front of you and then.... auto click and auto W straight... and back and on the sides, etc... like a poor man auto mine you will find ores eventually, and you can find it on lvl -5 and -57 it doesn't matter.
