Hi Sarah! Hi Kyuho! Oh goodness! Your meals looked amazing! The dishes and the food-so colorful! You know what’s crazy? When you showed a close up of the little black cats in the bowl, my mind went to your proposal video from years ago, when Kyuho proposed to you with the coffee/tea mug. 😊 I’ve always loved miniatures, so the museum exhibit was pretty cool! Love how the artists incorporated food products and various items to create this art! Amazing! I love that you guys will be doing TikTok shorts. I will definitely start following you. I need to go back and watch your Q&A video. I’m coming off of 10 days of Covid, for the first time in my life. 😢 I have many videos to catch up on. Take care! I suppose it depends on the learner and their goals, but I believe definitely the best way to become really good in a language is immersion. I think if I wanted become fluent in a language, I would definitely have to move/live in that country for a couple years to really get good at that language.

Yes! I wish they also had a ‘study abroad and stay with a host family in Korea’ option while I was attending university-I would’ve loved to have done a summer there too like I did with Japan. Especially when you’re still a student, usually your main priority is literally studying/language learning. It’s a lot tougher to dedicate the same time and energy to studying/emersion on that same level when you’re also working full time.

That miniature exhibit is so cute!!! Also there’s something i’ve always been curious about. Do you guys take random insert shots and then slot them into the video? Or do you take the insert shots with the captions/general idea of where they’re gonna be used in mind? Your insert shots are always so aesthetic i’m just wondering what are your thought processes behind them!
@2hearts1seoul8 ай бұрын
It was so much fun! Ohhh, interesting question! We usually take b-roll in order while filming whenever possible (since it makes the editing process easier when you export the clips). Sometimes we have an idea of the captions we might put while filming, but sometimes we just decide to add them during the editing process :) That’s why we always try to keep in mind to film these b-roll clips for about 7 seconds, so there’s time to read a caption if we put one.

@2hearts1seoul8 ай бұрын
We use our mics for both if we know we’re going to be talking for a length of time :) The exhibition had music playing in the background the entire time, but you can’t hear it because of the mics were using ;) If we weren’t using the mics, we would get a copyright strike on KZbin because that music is probably not royalty free 😅 Also, in order to get our voices clearly picked up on our camera’s speaker, we have to speak quite loudly, which would be pretty obnoxious for the other people trying to enjoy the exhibit. We can speak a lot more quietly and be more discrete without bothering other people when we use our mics :)

I'm trying to vlog discreetly in public so I always set it on a shelf when I'm in a bookstore, for example, and I'm always scared that I might be told not to do it or be a bother 😅 Also, the footage that I get is wonky so I have to adjust it while editing. What's with the lineup culture for restaurants in Seoul? Do people not pack their lunch (surprising considering the long hour work culture there)? Do people just flock to the lines or the highly reviewed restaurants? We just don't have lines like that in my city in Canada.

It’s not common to pack a lunch here, which I (Sarah) found really odd at first, since this is so common in Canada! People always want to eat at popular or highly reviewed restaurants here, which get super busy when workers are on their lunch break.

I know it's been a while since you've updated us on Beemo, but I have a question on when Beemo first got sick, how was your mental health for you both? My cat has been sick for a month and a half, an ear infection, which is finally healing with antibiotics, but how we found out he had an infection was because he got an aural hematoma in the lower part of his outer ear, it was treated, and he got stitches, but a week after the stitches were removed, the upper half of his outer ear, the pinna, swelled up like a balloon, and they treated it, but only put tape on it, the vet at the clinic by us deemed the stitches technique to be ineffective, though it's a different part of the ear that didn't stitches, a few days after taking the tape off, it swelled again, I rushed him to the clinic and his ear was treated, but the same day at home it swelled again, and now we need to go to an animal hospital where there are ear specialists, I have a feeling that his ear will have to be stitched, but oh well, should've been done in the first place. For a week and a half and another weekend during this, my partner has been gone because of obligations he couldn't get out of, so I've been dealing with giving all the medications and other aftercare for our cat and taking our cat in last minute a couple of times to the clinic on my own. My mental health during this time is stretched thin, sooo much anxiety, a panic attack a couple of times, loss of appetite, night sweats, crying thinking it's my fault though I know it isn't. I can't blame this on my partner and I do need to be the adult and caregiver when he's not there, but it's taken it's toll. Was it like this with you both?

I'm half Ukrainian, half Kazakh and I speak Russian, but only with my family, because I was born and raised in Western Europe. I understand and can speak the language, but indeed, you forget it if you don't use it regularly. For me, because of the war and part of my family suffering in Ukraine, I also feel bad that I know Russian and not Ukrainian. In my opinion, it has become a cursed language. I have complicated feelings. An otherwise beautiful language has been stained by recent horrors.
@impendingsky34758 ай бұрын
Language has nothing to do with politics. Almost every country/nation has its history of violence, that doesn't mean we should cancel languages or ppl who use them.
@finneblub87688 ай бұрын
@@impendingsky3475 It is okay that you do not understand what I mean, you probably have not experienced the pain of war. It is not about "cancelling a language", it is about distancing yourself and rejecting the culture that right now is bringing great suffering to people close to you. Jewish germans fleeing Nazi Germany refused to speak German as well, during and after the war. This is not politics, this is trauma.
