The hole you used is the actual mounting location for the GE water bypass pipe! The only reason the bracket doesn’t line up (and the reason it had to be cut off) is because the angle of the bolts on the back of the water pump are different between the GE pump and GTE pump. Since the angle is different, the bypass pipe has to be rotated, and therefore so does the bracket, making it no longer line up. That being said, I’m also doing a GTE JZ swap on a 350z currently (GTE head and pump, using the GE bypass pipe) and your idea of the band clamp is the solution I’ve been looking for! Thank you for making this video!

8:00 you installed the thermostat incorrectly. It has a small hole, about 2 mm in diameter. this small hole must face upwards. you have such a marking in the thermostat housing: small line- see?. the hole in thermostat must be upwards for the system to work properly👍🖐

I was just mocking up thermostat by hand to show the direction it goes in. Once the thermostat was placed inside the housing the pin was facing upwards 👍
