I'm not a fan of Commodores at all, but I will say that that VL is a very clean car. I remember the famous Wheels magazine cover with a picture of a VL turbo instrument cluster and the speedo was off the clock. The factory turbo cars were a great surprise from Holden, after years of flogging the same engine. Nissan sure do know how to build an engine.

If you put the ring terminal in one half of a flaring tool (to keep the bottom half round), you put a big bolt on the top and crank it in the vice. That gets a much better crimp vs flattening in the vice. There's also some cheap tools you just wack with a big f-ing hammer that work amazing. You two would LOVE the hammer bit...

you should try doing a build on a 1fz-fe it's the 2JZ's big brother and if you destroked it from 4.5 to 4.0 they can make 800 or 900 HP all day . it's the same set up as the 2JZ with aluminum head on an Iron block but are 4.5 Liter engines think 2JZ big block. there out of land cruiser's and are fairly plain stock but have a tendency to go big under boost

Pretty sure from watching the haltech wiring videos he suggested not using alternator because it can be a source of noise. Starter or a post were what Dave recommended for main power source with boot mounted battery.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three T66 turbos with NOS, and a MoTec system exhaust.
