Lol. No they aren't. They planned that. 2k23 was made to get us to 2k24. It was the video game version of tanking Anyone with a brain could realize that no contracts + the new unlimited system + player lock was going to make MT easier to farm than ever. It wasn't a coincidence they did all that and simultaneously: - raised pack prices - lowered pack odds - reduced free packs - introduced unactionable cards - put the best cards as grind only - buried park cards in the rosters They reduced the supply of cards *and* inflated the currency to create a market with runaway prices. A perfect storm to make card prices go through the roof so they could justify removing the AH in 2k24 Oh and they 'coincidentally' introduced MyEras and put MJ on the cover in a year they knew people would be buying VC from third parties. The whole year I was trying to figure out what their plan was because nothing they did made sense. *This* was the end game.

Multiple things can be true. Have they done well in the past? yes. Did they completely invalidate our squads and all the good stuff they have done lately when compared to the new cards? Yes. Did they make them all MyCasino and give a GIANT advantage to those that were willing to drop the same amount of $ the game costs (or more) for cards that will be outdated in a month? Yes. Are they now in a lose lose? Yes. If they add them to the market for MT, those that spent money are pissed. If they dont, the majority of the community is pissed. They chose poorly. They could have made more with fair prices that weren't gambling, on top of that.

They keep doing this as Reverse Psychology. They know they could do these things, and they arent dumb. 2K will Blue Ball its community and hold hold out as long as they want and they know people want these rewards or kick backs soooo badly and I even think they even agree that the players deserve something simple and nice like 1 out of the 3 Damian Lillard cards to enjoy but they still never budge... And they know the result will drive people crazy and keep coming back thinking it will change, but losing some "new players" is worth it to them because they will trade a few anyday for the large scale of players that just want to see 2k do the right thing and reward the community for something they dedicate a lot of time to. They know you are gonna always come back and check if they finally did it and since they wont ever cave, youre gonna take it into your hands and go pay over and over until you finally get the one thing you feel that you deserve. Its messed up but they look at it differently and make it seem like its not a big deal because in reality, its just a video game but they know the community is upset and wants to feel rewarded for the time and effort they put into playing the game. They Win either way but they end up hitting the Jackpot every time they hold out on the players.

They've been doing it for years. Now the Yao thing -- that was to punish the community I think. Although even that was mainly about normalizing gambling only limited inserts.
