I don't see the straps over his shoes..are those the red nikes they usually have in the boat's footplates??

its a BATLOGIC footplate that gets strapped to the erg. the shoes are screwed to the metal plate. the shoes have a wedge under them to change angles and get better connection. they were experimental at the time, but are now a standard show you can order in different boats.
