The fact that Corey can cut off half way through a verse, take a break, then jump right back in to the exact pitch needed from where he left off.. All while belting it at the top of his lungs.. Freaking amazing talent
@LifeonEarthBand4 жыл бұрын
Mattchew Why To be fair, cutting into a measure is pretty standard in the studio. You don’t want to lose on a good take just because you fucked one word or note, so you cut in at the point you messed up. When you do that, you start on a new track and you can hear the prior track in your phones so you have reference. Not trying to take away from Corey, he’s stellar. Just saying that is pretty much the normal way of tracking.

hudson It’s still pretty special to produce an whole album by yourself, as in instruments and recording etc. Not saying foo fighters are the today’s Beatles of rock, but Dave Grohl is pretty awesome to have done that all by himself. It’s a bit harsh to call him or even the rest of the band generic trash with the talent they do have, I’m not saying they’re amazing or not trash, just seems a bit harsh. I could be wrong though 😂 the pretender was quite similar to Sesame Street ‘one of these things’.

Cause Rock and metal don't sell anymore, the award shows such as the Grammy's don't even televise the Rock / Metal award section of the show anymore, they are more concerned with appearing " woke " and only HORRENDOUS modern Hip Hop and pop gets any attention. Sure when Slipknot put out a new album it will top the charts for a week or two but then the album's dead , gone are the days that a Album will have commercial legs for 2 years ( i.e. The Black Album, Hysteria , Appetite for Destruction etc.....). And Slipknot are now a legacy act and have they're inbuilt fan base. It's impossible for new Rock to dominate the musical zeitgeist, even though of course this isn't anything " New ". But yes , it's a awesome song and should have had more attention.

never really liked him as a producer, everything that man touches sounds bland and like everything he has touched before. A good producer would make sure the sonic identity of the band remains intact

@@miguelnascimento2847 Ya you're right, Nirvana Nevermind was bland. The Smashing Pumpkins Gish and Siamese Dream bland bland bland, Sonic Youth, Green Day, Soul Asylum.. bland bland bland. Wait. Do we have the same definition of bland? It means - the bands best selling albums that went platinum infinity, right? No? Oh ok. Well then hey, you're still free to your opinion regardless of how off base it is to the vast majority of people who like good music. (Find it funny you use the term "sonic identity" unless it was a tongue in cheek comment alluding to Sonic Youth. In which case, I take back my comment, and raise your comment to a well played - thumbs up. ;D

@@ricktremblay2411 listen to the music released by all those bands and compare with and without him producing it and you might get my point. He has a sound of his own that (to me) sounds bland, he turns whatever he works with from raw to something pop'ish sounding. This is my view on him and it's a subjective opinion on the perception I have of sound so I couldn't care less about the opinion of the masses that listen to "good music" since my point remains no matter the argument, because there isn't one.
@ricktremblay24114 жыл бұрын
@@miguelnascimento2847 I have listened and owned all those albums actually. The Pumpkins are my favorite band, and Gish is raw, while Siamese Dream was anything but bland. Anything that cannot be place in one genre, and I'll take a quote from an online resource which states it well: The Pumpkins sound is ANYTHING but bland: 'disavowing the punk rock roots of many of their alt rock contemporaries, they have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound' (I love the guitar distortion, its what hooked me) 'containing elements of gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychadelic rock, shoegazing, and electronica in later recordings.' Since you're already on KZbin try watching some of the series What Makes This Song Great Episode 23 Smashing Pumpkins, and while he could have chosen better songs, it at least gives a much more fair appreciation of elements in a musical composition of a song, that isn't always obvious to people. Not just Pumpkins songs. He does Nirvana songs as well. Boston - More Than a Feeling is a great example of the effort that went into great music. And I don't know why everyone thinks any essence of pop is any indicator of a lack of anything. Pop is short for popular. Meaning it's accessible and appreciated by a wide audience. Since when does wide appreciation mean inferior? If anything it connects people. People made up of every sort of person from audiophiles to musically intelligent, to musically gifted or totally lacking thereof. No one gets to decide what is good music or bad music, but music snobs try don't they? I am only disagreeing with your statement because I feel it to be baseless, other than the use of the pop reference as some type of self explanatory indicator. Musical taste and peoples opinions on musical acceptance or lack thereof isn't a currency that gets you in any clubs, shows or events. Now if you 're talking about manufactured crap that is common nowadays, and reached node critical the day someone tried to give Chad Kreuger a nickle back.. that's more along the lines of acceptable conditions for agreeable opinion. But it's all still just an opinion. Not any single one is the be all end all for everyone or anyone.

Anti Retard Equation corey taylor has 6 Octaves. He’s always had that range while singing. He has a more natural low voice though so if you compare someone who can sing high like Axl Rose to Corey, Axl’s will seem a lot more high even though they are hitting the same note.
@singingfedexmanjoshcampbel16144 жыл бұрын
Corey Taylor had a 5 octave voice AT BEST. Christ everyone on here is worshipping. After D-F5 hes pretty much useless except for whistles and odd noise artifacts (which are NOT singing). To give you all an idea, Mariah Carey has about a 6 octave voice if you count her super low register range in the D-G1 range.
