It's me again! I've been really lazy lately, so I haven't made any progress on the DsO stuff. In order to not feel like a total failure, I now present you with an old cover redone in a more sane tuning.

Indeed, amazing cover! I'm really impressed how you manage to move quickly to so many differents chord shapes while tremolo picking.

Thanks! It seems the more pain I feel in the right hand, the easier it is for the left.

Absolutely superb. Hallvard Wennersberg Hagen wrote some crazy Black Metal riffs, that's for sure. I still dig some of his acid jazz work in Xploding Plastix too...

Yes! I quite enjoy Xploding Plastix too when I'm in the right mood.

Amazing... Can you suggest me a band similar to Kvist? Probably It doesn' t exist

Old Satyricon has similar aesthetics but not quite this level of riff madness.

Hey Tommy, just wondering: what technique do you use at the start of this song to play those non-adjacent strings and keep the middle string muted? Do you use hybrid picking? It's not the impression I have at this speed. Or do you simply mute the middle one with one of your fingers (if so, with which one)? Thanks in advance for your answer!
@2m0ng0323 жыл бұрын
In the intro riff I use my middle finger to mute the G string, though not very well as I can hear the string go "ping" every time I strike the chord. Hybrid picking would work really well actually, but with these pickups I find the tone far too twangy!
@2m0ng0323 жыл бұрын
Btw, at 8:20 I'd play the frets 4 2 0 starting from the A string rather than the ridiculous 11 7 5 or whatever I wrote in the tab. That's just an oversight from when I transposed the original tab from standard tuning. I didn't even check if the notes are correct, as I didn't spend any time figuring out how to play that specific part! I'll fix that once I update the tabs!
@2m0ng0323 жыл бұрын
Edit: "original" tab as in "I figured the song out in standard tuning and later transposed it to drop tuning"

@@2m0ng032 Guess I'll have to test things to see what works best for me nowadays (I'm probably going to end up using my middle finger that way too, but we'll see) ;)

@@2m0ng032 Good to know, thanks for that! Though it's going to take me a while to get to that segment of the song (haven't touched my guitar in ages. I actually feel guilty) :o
