I'm a HUGE Counting Crows fan since they came out, but I CAN'T STAND that Adam always sings the songs live so differently. Millions of fans fell in love with the original version and want to sing along with him, but can't since he always sings a different version. Maybe it's just me? This is the main reason I won't ever go to his concerts. I went to one and was so disappointed. Rain King is my favorite song, but not this version of course.

You must not be a musician. Singing the same thing thousands of times the exact same way every time gets old quickly. He's displaying true musical talent

if you want to hear it the same way you always here it, like why suffer the expense of a live show just continue to listen to it recorded. I go to live shows to hear new arrangements and giant jams of my favorite songs!

Sorry it's just you... Their musicians, not jukeboxes... You can listen to album version anytime you want. Live is about a unique time for that show. Back in the day, there was a website that had recordings of every show they did touring and the greatest time was listening to 100 versions of Anna Begins and finding your favorite... ✌️

Counting Crows are one of the worst LIVE bands I have ever seen. They continuously butcher the studio versions of good songs. This is godawful

You'd rather just hear a carbon copy of the album versions over and over again? The reworkings Adam and the band do make the concerts unique and memorable.

I've seen them twice live in person in the late 2010s and they were good. I have heard that their earlier live stuff is not as good as it is now.

Their live performances are the reason they're still able to tour the world and sell out shows. They are artists like Dylan or Joni who constantly reinvent their own songs. The records always there for people who want to hear the original.

@@joclermont Which is a fair point, and good, but for those of us who grew up hearing the album versions, it would be nice if their live versions were a lot closer to that.
