I’m not sure if Phil still does it or not but, for awhile, he was making annual trips to San Antonio to visit The Alamo. The original movie left a big impression on him as a child and he not only became a history buff but apparently has a large collection of historical artifacts from the site and has even donated some to the museum. He also has a coffee table book showing his collection.

The recounting of Phil's past experiences truly explains both why many bands/artists do no always last that long...or as individuals 'burn out', as the sheer effort to engage in such 'work', takes a VERY heavy toll on ALL involved, especially those who need to carry 'the show'! Oh, and for the record, I NEVER got tired of Phil's songs, especially his breakout solo track, and the forever remembered drum beat (Gorilla's beware! LOL)
