About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.
Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).
The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zeeland band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

In times of slavery in Brazil, slaves wanted to rebel against the colonels, but for that they would need to have the strength to fight so they created a martial art called capoeira. This martial art contained several instruments, vocals and was very similar to a dance, all for the colonels to think they were just having fun during the night. One of these instruments is the one that Max usually plays. It is called berimbau and is still used today in capoeira.

In 1995, I decide to go snowboarding in Upstate New York and while walking around, I see Evan from Biohazard. We would practice in the big room at Fastlane Studio in Brooklyn where Merauder would practice before us and Biohazard would go in after we were done. So in a low tone I say, "Is that Evan from Biohazard!?" Hahaha!! He turns around, big Brooklyn hugs and hey, I'm glad you're up here riding today. "Lou, let me introduce you to someone." As we walk towards the area to order food, I see the back of some guy with long dreadlocks. Hahaha!! At the time, I was a HUGE Sepultura fan, and he says, "Igor, I want to introduce you to one of my buddy's from Brooklyn. And that's how I met Igor Cavalera from Sepultura. Snowboarding at Hunter Mountain in New York, Winter 1995. : ) Hahaha!

Respeito demais a raça e dedicação do Andreas de ter dado continuidade a banda. E respeito alguns sons novos que eles fizeram. Mas a energia dessa formação antiga era outro naipe. Música não é só virtuosismo. É feeling também. E a era do Max tinha de sobra.

I very much enjoy this over the original, something about all the different instruments they use in the beginning, plus the guitar screech is much more prevalent giving the intro a bigger feeling in terms of raw sound, plus with the goat hooves and that nose whistle their man in tie dye did, it all added a nice feeling to the song.

Sepultura nessa formação era imbatível, o arranjo dos caras era inigualável! O Max estava no auge do seu vocal, a parte instrumental estava muito demais. Nessa época sem dúvida nenhuma a maior banda do mundo. Porém hoje tanto sepultura quanto soulfly está muito diferente do que a gente viu, uma pena.
