Hi there.. I am loving your videos and have subscribed!☺.. I am really struggling tho with the eck printing.. I used white vinegar to presoak my cotton.. I then boiled the bundles for 2 hours in alum and vinegar.. There were no prints.. I'm in the UK and struggling to find the right recipe... can you advise at all please? I'm desperate to get a reasonable result as I'm becoming despondent with no results... help ... help please 😣 xx

Im trying that but i didnt get that print
@AannshaJones6 жыл бұрын
monit rudakiya Some materials are resistant to natural prints. I would suggest you try printing on wool or silk first as they readily accept natural dye. It may also be that the plant material you are using are not giving up any dye. Also, if you use eucalyptus leaves, you will need to heat for a long time.

Lovely, but I have found that Eucalyptus leaves don’t need a mordant at all.
@AannshaJones6 жыл бұрын
You're correct Neena Me. I used a mordant because I was also using other leaves and wasn't sure if they were substansive dyes like the eucalyptus leaves. I also tend to use a mordant on cotton as I've found cotton does not print as easily as silk or wool/felt.

How much onion skin do you use?
@AannshaJones6 жыл бұрын
As much as I've managed to collect! The more you use, the stronger the colour. At least two big handfuls.
