Brilliant narration by Mr Acara. I have the book on the Westchester Railway and wish I could fund some super 8 films of the same. Nick Jervis UK 🇬🇧 Ask the man who owns one

You are a GREAT historian. I grew up in NJ (I'm 64) and.I had no idea Manhattan had so many elevated lines. I only remember an elevated platform on 250th st, with a spark or two coming down from the tracks...this was 1982. Is that still there?

I think you are thinking of the Bronx, I don't think there is a 250th st. Station in Manhattan. And I don't see one in the Bronx either...

Why on earth tear down such an important piece of transportation infrastructure during the worst war in world history? This was at a time when gasoline was rationed, and people were asked by advertising, "Is this trip really necessary?"

Maybe they should have started the underground digging before they tore it down.

The film quality is so bad, I can't tell the difference between round columns or square columns. Not at all worth watching!
