This is when I got into Kpop and, like any other interest, it inspired me to look in the past for 1st gen and gain an appreciation for those songs. I have a bias towards 2nd and 3rd gen because that's when I was biggest into Kpop. I haven't kept up as much with 4th gen. Besides Aespa and ITZY but I think they border on 3rd gen.

I feel like 2018 was the beginning of 4th gen, but I think pinning it at around 2020 makes sense too. (For 2018 I'm going by ATEEZ, the only 4th gen group I actively stan, and they debuted in 2018)

Good old days.. For me personally, this is the best era.. So many different variation of music.. Beautiful vocal.. The dance was easy to follow.. The song was easy listening.. A lot of interaction between Boy Group and Girl Group.. That's why I'm stuck being fan of this generation (and some of the early 3rd gen) and I'm not really big fan of the newer generation.. Ahh.. I miss that golden era..

I was into K-Pop only when 2014 started... But, untill today, I'm totally 2nd. Was THE BEST era ever. No generation will replace the 2nd gold gen. I'm still sad that I've just enjoyed a little bit the 2nd gen groups at the top... But also I'm happy and proud of seeing my fave GG's releasing MV's those times. The only one thing I will never see is KARA with all members at formation. As my bias is resting in peace for now. When I first met KARA, KARA reality was uploading the EP's. Thank you 2nd gen for everything, and as one of the worst years in Kpop (for all that happened), was also my only favorite (first) year ❤️

I got into kpop in 2006, but you missed that single year in your video description. The 1st Gen Kpop vid stops at 2005 and the 2nd Gen starts at 2007. Even though we have singers from 2nd Gen still making comebacks in 2015, I wouldn't consider that still 2nd Generation. 2nd Generation stopped around 2011-2013, even though our 2nd Gen idols still dominated well into the 3rd Gen era.

I was a fan of K-Pop from 2012 until 2021 and omg, this video brought back so many memories. There are even songs in here that served as the first songs I ever heard of groups including Rainbow's Sunshine, BIGBANG's Fantastic Baby, 2NE1's I Am The Best, 4Minute's Muzik and so many more. This whole video brings me back to the first time I ever heard those songs. I feel old now and I do long back to those days when K-Pop was cool, before it turned for the worse. I definitely don't regret leaving the fanbase, but I do feel sad to see how K-Pop has turned for the worse at some point. I joined in the middle of the golden age and I have good memories of that, which I'll cherish forever. EDIT: Also, 4Minute's What's Your Name? also brought back some very strong memories. As this was the very first K-Pop comeback I ever witnessed being released. Jesus, I feel old.

I became obsessed with KPOP in my thirties because my teen daughter fell down the rabbit hole. I agree, 2008 - 2016 was pretty much the golden years. I was a hardcore fan ARMY UNTIL BTS got so much international attention. I haven't really listened to anything since they entered their DNA period. When I watch these "nostalgia" videos, I know about 75% of the songs.
