Thank you so much for this flip through. This is exactly what I was looking for. My daughter really liked the BJU video lessons (she is currently using abeka) so I was trying to preview this curriculum.

The only Christian reference I saw was is in chapter 1 and I didnt see it anywhere else in the book. I'm hoping my daughter will like it!

I have used BJU math for 2 grades, they do try to incorporate bible scripture in the lessons but that’s usually in the teachers manual. they do incorporate Christian images like churches or bibles in the worktext.

I'm new at all this currently trying to pick between abeka and bju. Throught all the work books do the videos help them understand these concepts ??

I just use the student workbook for BJU but I know they have teacher guide you can purchase with it to help you teach. As far as Abeka goes, they have 2 options, one option is video where a teacher teaches the lesson or you can do it on your own using a student workbook and teacher guide. I hope this helps! So far not yet, we are on Chapter 8 and I haven't seen a need for it. I'm sure if we do grade 3 it might be another story.

The first few chapters are review so you could get by w.o it. But once you get into the new math concepts you may need some assistance on how to explain it. Because the worktext doesn’t give much info on how to get the results. In second grade you will be covering multiplication and division so I would say the teachers edition would be good because it’ll tell you exactly what to say to explain it. You can get it used online. I suggest looking for it in Facebook groups or eBay or thriftbooks
