You notice those black X's on the fourth step of the Pyramid? I think that's the "patrol zone" that they're referring to in which the Gladiator cannot start any higher than that after releasing a contender at the bottom. As we see during the event, Rhino almost went to the top after he released Yuri around 16:55. I think that also may have played a factor into his injury. If you don't quite get what I mean, look at the replay around 19:14. Hammer is standing on the "X" step when waiting for his contender, but Rhino goes all the way up to the ninth step before he goes after Yuri.

For some reason i don't like The ashes or the Internationals but i watch them anyway because even after 20 years i'm still an avid fan, think it's because i prefer our UK Gladiators, but i'm glad that i can find the episodes on here since i missed the re-runs last week.

oh my goodness international gladiators 2 heat 4 has a 3 way playoff female and male challengers elimination schedule. the male and female challenger with the least and lowest scoring points after 3 events is instantly eliminated out of the tournament for the rest of the season and only 2 male and female challengers with the highest scoring points gets to go to the eliminator final event. the german male and female challengers are eliminated out of the tournament for the rest of the season with the lowest scoring points. uk male gladiator was out for the rest of the season 2 of international gladiators for his injured leg muscle from the pyramid event. this season 2 of international gladiators uk male gladiator warrior is back in the powerball event for learning his lesson not to be unsportsmanlike conduct on this powerball event. sincerely derek kinman

Yes, it seems a bit unfair really the two contenders sent away after only two events may have done well in other events and likely have done very well in the eliminator, but we'll never know....

The reason why they eliminate contenders midway through the show is for timing purposes. If all three contenders competed throughout the entire show, all the events would last for more than what the TV time slot allows. Also, some events can't work with three contenders, such as Powerball.
