Im using upper hand not to whip, but for uplifting opponent’s guard for dan tien strike. Is it mistake or just other interpretation of a principle?

I'm not really much communicating here, sorry, .. I would never say it's a mistake as long as it has a use. And even it has no 'visible' use, it sure could have effects, that are not combat-related, still, it would not be 'wrong' necessarily. Ppl who say 'wrong' to everything that doesn't fit THEIR understanding, stay locked with their 'so-far-knowledge'. There can be a million things I haven't witness yet, thats the reason I would never say 'THAT' or 'THIS' is wrong because I do it different etc.
