Hi George great video! I’m a Chesapeake Bay transplant now living on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, so Surf fishermen. What caught my eye was your reel. I’ve never seen anything like it but I’ve never been ice fishing looks cool to me!

Yep, a little different. Designed so you release ut and the bait drops down. There is no casting involved so that is not a concern. When at right depth you lock in the drag and good to go. These rods are small* short. But extremely tough. There are different stiffness ranges for rods depending on what you going for. The one am using called a tickle stuck from 13. Very sensortive, good for pan fish. My other is a medium I use for pike. Dead sticking with a minnow for free swimming bait. Thanks for watching, always appreciated 🙏. Be safe out there

Great vid but NOT my idea of ice fishing. Hereabouts you fill your tumbler with ice and top it off with your preferred antifreeze. This is done while sitting in a folding lawn chair. Clothing is optional but bug repellent is mandatory.
