There's also the reverse antidrop fake-out, where the antidrop follows the chorus and becomes a type of 2nd chorus. Sounds very satisfying because unlike the traditional antidrop, the tension is actually released first. Example: Cherry Bullet's "Love So Sweet". The chorus is very colourful and then as the 2nd chorus there's the shallow sounding cute antidrop.

I really like I Got Love when it was dropped. Too bad that song was like a gift song for fans so Taeyeon didn’t really promote the song. I have such mixed feelings about anti-drops, if executed badly it instantly ruins the song for me. But if executed well, it can create amazing songs. Often they end up as acquired tastes for me, like I really did not like Why Not at first, but now I love it; so it really is a risk I think. Despite that, some of my favourite songs have had anti-drops, so it is a risk worth taking. Also on another note, your videos are amazing, really well edited and they add your own unique personality/take to the video genre which really sells it. Feels less fabricated, while being factual and funny at the same time, so keep it up. :)

Despite knowing that SM as a conglomerate and money hungry entertainment company they sure "pioneer" a lot sounds for the whole kpop industry. While their 1st or 2nd releases might not be popular with their masses it paves the way for other companies/musicians/songwriters/composers to explore and I'm so thankful for that. Kpop is one of my favorite sounds (even if you discount the "idol culture).

One thing I like about SM is that they dont just chase after trends and make cash-grabbing songs. They genuinely care about making art (exploring new and obscure ideas, taking inspirations, do crazy things) and make money at the same time. SM is nowhere perfect but their contributions to kpop should never be overlooked. Without them, kpop would not be where it is today

Woahh, how do you see music? When you’re listening to music, how do different types of music look like?

@@sushih3302 In my head the songs will look like geometric shapes moving around. It tends to be the same shapes regardless of genre. It's more that the shapes become more 3D the more intense it is. Like usually if there is a moment where the music really builds I will see a square and it starts to develop into a cube, then if the build up keeps going I'll eventually feel like I'm actually holding the cube and manipulating it with my hands even though I'm sitting perfectly still. Not every song does this though, but for kpop almost all of Suga's solo songs do because he loves to ramp up the intensity about halfway through.

I remember when I got into Golden Child I was obsessed with them for like a week or two. I especially loved the songs 'ONE(lucid dream)' , 'Wannabe' and 'Without You' which were all seemingly Anti Drops. in the edm community we call them fakeouts (antidrops) they tend to be very similar to these examples, the best example i can come up with is in a song called "anywhere" by au5 (not kpop), good video btw

I think anti-drops fit B-sides better cause they're "different" from the main track and the main track can then be more like a real drop led by tension.

Joined in 3rd gen, but having looked into the history of the industry because I just like that kind of thing, I quickly realised that there were A LOT less groups and idols back then. Much easier to know every group, every member, every song, even ads were much more impactful back then. It really must have gotten overwhelming for those who joined earlier on.
