YG only started adding captions recently like 2-3 years ago. Captions wasn't a thing way back, only when kpop got so big globally the past few years. Also this was their debut song that's why they look so young (2009) Minzy was only 15, CL 19, Bom and Dara were 25. 2NE1 broke the stereotypes of girl groups since debut where girls only do the cute and sexy concepts. 2NE1 invented the girl crush concept (swag / hiphop) which many girl groups followed since. Trivia: CAN YOU SPOT G-DRAGON IN THIS MV?? 😉

This was long ago and during then not many kpop or K- hip hop have any eng sub in it. They disband long ago. Same agency (yg entertainment) with big bang and world wide famous “blackpink”. Before the biggest girl group - “blackpink “ it was 2ne1! Most of blackpink mv are in 1 billions views.

Kpop wasn't really aimed at the western market until a few years ago. Until then we had to look up the English translations for the songs. Given that international fans were ignored for so long, it's kind of amazing that Kpop still managed to make a impact worldwide. There were already groups doing international tours when I started listening in 2013. Long before the recent push towards western markets.

Classic song! Never gets old. Every time you say "I go by the name of A" I hear "I go by the name of CL." There's another version of the music video called "space version" that's not majorly space themed but has some elements. I prefer it for some reason. I think the street vs space naming is just to differentiate between the two videos.

CL is 18 yrs.old DARA is 24 yrs.old BOM is 25 yrs. old Fun Facst: 2NE1 Former Creative Director is MAMAMOO's CEO he left YG and started his own company. And for her 1st gg to succeed which is Mamamoo he make them watched and study 2NE1 performances as part of their training and that is why both groups have a lot of similarities specially in live performances.

Always nice to have an excuse to watch any 2NE1 m/vs again. I think the street versions may have been replaced with performance versions of the mv, as I haven't seen many groups that do street versions anymore. Another couple of groups that you'll probably enjoy are Stray Kids (they do have a few street versions) and Everglow. Both have solid rap lines and are impressive dancers.
