When you think “surely they can’t think up of a more complex routine” then they came up with this, a quite brilliant routine. If there was a vote for “Best marching band in college football” Texas A&M gets my vote.
@voiceofreason9238 Жыл бұрын
My high school band marched military style so I love the traditional marching and music. Of that military style, no doubt A&M is tops in what they do. Best marching band? I'd be tempted to go with two marching bands you've never heard of, RCC Riverside Community College which is a training ground for new Blue Devils ideas. The other would be North Texas University, which has a fantastic music program. Nobody in the country beats their drumline which is virtually the same battery as the Santa Clara Vanguard.
@mtnairpilot Жыл бұрын
While some naysayers may point out that a lot of this is "follow the leader" and that only the first in each file needs to know what they're doing, this style of marching is absolutely unforgiving of error. If someone in the FTAB makes a mistake, 50,000 people will know it immediately. That isn't the case with most marching bands. It adds a different level of pressure.
@johngordon6526 Жыл бұрын
@@mtnairpilot It still is really impressive. I've been on the opposing band side. We all say ours was harder, But it is like: "I had to learn all these positions and whatnot, and then you follow. meh, it's been 20 years, let me bitch about song selection =p T+M is just going to get applause and our audience doesn't get our technicals. (I'm jeaolous a bit at least =p)

I just stumbled onto this, thankfully. Tomorrow my wonderful husband who was a veteran of WWII would have turned 100 years young. Shortly after his return from the war he enrolled at Texas A&M. He graduated as a member of the Class of 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a very proud Aggie and taught me the love of A&M and the fighting band. He was 1LTC ENOCH T. @@bradcallahan1194yes, you have to be in the Corps of Cadets, which is an ROTC program, however you don’t have to be committed to be commissioned into the armed forces upon graduation.

Just for the record, he is playing a sousaphone aka as a marching tuba.
@LinLing4911 Жыл бұрын
Also just for the record, it's mostly called a "bass" , he says, and neither of the above terms . Most people recognize "tuba", though.
@janettamcgee8124 Жыл бұрын
Many people don't know what a Sousaphone is or identify it with that wrap around horn that people carry while marching. So, it is genetically called a tuba. The coolest tuba players EVER march in the Aggie Band.

King never disappoints! Only mistake I saw was one lady who I believe turned into the wrong section of the block in the block-buster, and then miss a left turn which I believe she shouldn't have been taking if in the right, but she had a hasty recovery and did a great job of making it look purposeful! The Aggies never disappoint!
