As a Tupac fan, I knew this was written when he was younger. 91/92. His rhymes were a little simple back then but he was definitely evolving each year

Love the song. Tupac is more revered as an emotional storyteller, than a pure lyricist. He was straight to the point. There are other rappers that are more into clever wordplay etc. You might want to look into those too. 2pac didn't spend much time on forming one song. He wrote like a maniac, spilling everything out that he had inside him. He made several songs a day, which is pretty much unmatched until today. But that's why his rhymes are often more "simple" and lyrically not as impressive.
