The dad's last line in verse 4 gives me shivers every time I hear it, "...and grow to be the titan you were meant to be/keep the world frightened by the writings that you send to me" I feel like Pac actually did that.

I love the message in this track. The way I interpret it is that it’s written from the perspective of growing up in a broken home with an absent father. He has another song “Part Time Mutha” where it’s written from the perspective of growing up in a broken home with an absent mother. I believe you guys well enjoy that one even more than this one.

Pac didn't see Billy Garland again until he was shot at Quad Studios. They became close after that. It isn't Billy Garland that this song is about. It's about the man Pac was told was his father. Pac's mom told him later that Billy had died. Then as said before, Pac says a man walks into his hospital room and he looks just like him. Billy then explained to him that he was his biological father. There are a few interviews that feature Pac's father and some interviews with his half brother Allen and his sister in one.

Great reaction guys. Once again yall nailed it. Love the way yall don't back away from the Pac songs some people are scared to touch. Yall grasp the concept easier than much. Non judgemental thats what I like most about you guys. Its almost like you guys understand what the other one is thinking lol. I appreciate the understanding you guys have for music. I said it before and I say it again. You guys do the best Pac reactions. I like to see the journey of people when start listening Pac. Im in my 40s and listen to his songs hundreds of times. And I often forget this guy only made it to 25. Thanks again guys its a joy to see people who sees the good instead of condemning a man who gave himself through his music

PAC was a prophet. In the '90, when crack hit the streets and ruined NOLA (as Pac said) it became the murder capital. I had a strong POP who was there. I knew If I would think about that life, I'd have to answer to him. A lot of my friends were not so lucky, and as true to form about fatherless boys, most are dead or did a hard time. Thx, POP. R.I.P..

Shawn and Gina, I admit 2Pac didn't pull any punches in his lyrics. There is always a lot of angst and anger on his mind, it appears. Even though there is foul language, you understand the message behind it. The music has a driving rhythm. You both get personal in your comments, and you both shared some good insight on the meaning of what 2Pac was saying.

Another great 2Pac Track ! A lot of the lyrics here are very relatable for so many people unfortunately 😕 and the verse where he talks his father,s talk about being sorry etc for not being there for his son which is so true in life for too many children and the unrepairable damage caused by their absence is so sad ! Always enjoy both of your lyrics Breakdown on these songs! 😊
