it hits me noticing how 2pac showed how respectful and understanding he was toward his mother with this song, he didnt cuss through the song and thats a big difference to some rappers nowadays....

This was the golden era of rap when rappers used to express themselves through their music . They used to tell an entire story in a rap video . Today's mumble rappers are just shit . Just find something that rhymes , add the beats and repeat the statement again and again.

@@elfranklinx I'm sure you never made the efforts to look past the mainstream music cos there's rappers who are lyrical that are making music right now like Kendrick, J.I.D, etc. but your ignorant 300 pound ass won't bother looking for it. Back in the day it was very hard to release songs as lables didn't want to lose money by releasing a bad record that's why most of the music was filtered out but today with spotify and all other stuff anyone can record a song and upload it for free, this means people who aren't even hip hop listeners can log onto websites like youtube and spotify and listen to most sonically pleasing stuff, resulting in trap music being the most popular. But you won't understand this because it requires common sense to think critically, it's ironic someone who claims to be into 'smart' rap is so stupid.

I'm going to give you some advice, because I'm old, humor me, that you already know. Any woman ,I don't care how much you're in love with her and can't live without her doesn't understand your relationship with your mama ,she needs to GO,GOGO, no discussion and end of the story. You will never be sorry if you do. I had men try to come in between my son and I because jealousy over my boy are you kidding? What kind of sick people are these? It's apples and oranges. There's not a human alive that I would pick over my son. If he's wrong I'll tell him and I won't support him on that. But no one's going to put an ultimatum ever on me again................ had my son's girlfriends!!! jealous of our relationship. All they want to do is control us. is not that they love is so so much they can't live without us. When you are tight with anyone, these men and women don't like it because they can't get you alone and brainwash you and control you. They want everybody in your life to leave so anyway I'm sure you all know the story just venting. How was the baby having a baby but I never thought about giving my boy up ever. I'm not really a kid person we're I got a hug all the kids in the neighborhood stuff. He's my heart and I'll never explain it to anybody if they don't know it. I wouldn't waste my time when you're real young you think that person just loves you so much but they don't

I was scared so I asked “what happened to mama?” He said “y-your mother s-he has” I said “she has what?” He said “she has been murdered by a unknown murder...” my heart dropped 💔 it has never been so broken Ever. It is now 2020 and I pray the lord everyday at 8:00 in the morning (because that was the time she died) I say “lord please hope that my mother is having a blessed time in heaven.”

Tupac and Biggie were the shit in the 90s. Now I look at these young wannabe rappers and I'm like WTF has happened to the music industry. I remember when this song hit the charts, my son gave it to me on a burnt cd for Mother’s Day and told me this would be our song. He told me when he isn’t around me and I hear it on the radio, he would be thinking about me and loved me always. We could relate to the words. He died of a drug overdose almost two years ago this summer. I was thinking about him this morning while sitting on the porch with my coffee just wanting to have conversation with him and I spotted my cardinal red bird male and female that comes back each spring for years now. Red birds/cardinals are a sign from heaven that a loved one is sending love and comfort to your soul. So, I decided I would listen to our song and then jam to California love.....old timers like me watch the rap hip hop music industry come alive! Peace out

He started out, we thought he was gangsta/thug.. Yeah he played the role.. AND he also rhymed things, that came from the heart of an artist.. His parents, his history, his skills, he could have had the ability to make a very significant change on the world. Prophets come in all disguises.. Even at his most gangsta he had that smile of sunshine. and a heart of determination, to educate with his raps.

This song still hits me. All a parent wants to hear from their children is that they appreciate them. Pac always understood others' struggles so well. And he screamed it from the rooftops how we all struggle & are alike in that way. Not in our specific struggle, but the fact that we all are human & we all have our fears and strengths too. He may be gone from this world, but his legacy of love will never die.

“When things went wrong we’d blame mama...”, that line hit close to home. My mom isn’t the best mom, and she’s been indirectly told that from other family members, and sometimes by even me and my brother. She’s also a single mother, back in the day she would drink a lot, party, and since she was always lonely she would move from guy to guy...or she’d stay with one guy for a long time even if he was abusive. My brother and I didn’t have the safest home to go back to, but after a while I stopped blaming her for everything...even when she would put the blame on me out of frustration and stress. Me and her rarely got into serious fights...but when we did..they always ended with her telling me that she knew that nothing was ever my fault, and that she was the one in the wrong. I love you mom ❤️

I understand this. I guess I can relate to it. My mother isn’t perfect, but she’s my heart in human form, and no woman will ever be able to replace her. I love her because of her faults.
